Now is a time for unity, not unutty. UK was much better than ever this year & we were not alert for that and still, we barely lost - not counting that last minute plc-6 as scoring difference. Missouri was atrocious as a very good QB exploited our stumbly DBs. (that also helped Ugga)

The question, do you think Mullen would win. Initially yes I did. Didn't mean I thought a NC would be coming. But he has meet the first step in what I feel is the requirement to get it done. He got 10 wins, beat the Clowns, and won a new years six bowl. More than likely will be a #6, #7 ranked team come next week. With SCUM and the Clowns down, now it is all on Mullen to get it done. He has now what he needs, go and recruit, win, and no excuses.

For now, I am going to celebrate a great season. We have not had much to be happy about in a long time. C'mon guys, enjoy this one!

There's some truth to this. I always marveled at the fact that people felt Tebow could never be replaced, when in reality Meyer already had a near perfect clone on campus before Tim even started his first game. And while JD was going to be a massive step down from those two regardless, in that system he would've had a lot more success than he did with us. There are multiple examples of QBs recently--college and NFL--that would do well in his system. Definitely not my first choice, but not as down on him as some here.

That's the nature of these things. One minute we love someone, the next they're the worst human beings on the planet. And every now and then, that person gets a chance to come full circle and be whatever he was originally again.

I'll stand by my original post and rationale. He wasn't my first choice, but I don't think he's a bad choice. The notion that he has to have the "freak of nature" QB is overstated, considering in the past 10 years, he's personally had 4 that fit his system perfectly. I'd also point out that we often forget(or try to at least) the stretch from the end of Wuerffel to the rise of Grossman. I don't care what your system is, you need the right QB or you're not winning anything of consequence. DM is not unique in that regard. I also saw something about Burton and Reed? Not sure the relevance there considering he was long gone by then. I get it though. When it's been bad, it all tends to bleed together.

The offense was only intermittently competent... but that beats competely incompetent.
Don't get me wrong. Compared to 2010-2017...it's like the best offense of all time. Then again, Golf is more exciting and intense than 2010-2017.

I wasn't happy when he was hired. I honestly hadn't paid all that much attention to his coaching path and history of success everywhere he'd been before the hire. After the hire, and watching Gators Breakdown and listening to their analysis of him and his accomplishments, I began to feel hope. Now after the season is done I'm shaking my head in disbelief of how he turned a group of bad attitude, out of shape misfits into a 10 win team. The wins over FSU and Michigan to close it all out were simply beautiful. I love me some Dan Mullen. I'll take that serving of crow now.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I think he'd win 9 or 10 games right off the bat. I'm not even looking for him to beat Georgia, but I'd expect him to beat FSU and whatever Big 10 opponent we'd probably play in a bowl. (Hopefully it'd be Meatchicken, we lost to those fkkers 4 times in a row now).

I predict that PastyStoole will quote himself as to actually predict the future by going back and editing what he quotes.

Dude, you would declare we'd win if we brought in a hobo off the street to coach the team. You don't go out on a limb and predict anything, you just blindly shake pom-poms no matter what.

I gave you a like for the truth of your post. However, you have to admit that there is more than one poster here who does the same in the negative. They never go out on a limb to predict anything positive, they just declare everything is bad and won't work (probly 'cause it ain't their idea) no matter what.

It's kinda nice to have someone on the other end of the see-saw to balance it out. :stars:
