Well, Nauta, Eason, and Fromm certainly are.

But I think they are overranking those kids too. Suddenly in the last four or five years Jawja has tripled in the number of 5 star recruits in the state. I think the scouts are influenced by who was recruiting and if they see Ugly and Bammer fighting over a kid who is borderline, voila, five star.

If we have high four stars, that is good enough. Very little difference between those 4+* kids and the 5s.

Diabete is the talk of the allstar games. He may go to 5*. Arjei also.

Well the guy for 247 that is most influential in SE rankings is Chad Simmons that runs the uga site so...there’s that

There was a db they were recruiting last year(?) dj Daniel I think his name was. Went from not being ranked and not having a player profile to being a 4 star the second Georgia crystal balls started coming in for him.

I think greenard is a done deal btw as long as there’s no grade concerns. He and his mom have been super pro gator on twitter lately.

What I’m getting from this is that star ratings are a little wonky. Doesn’t mean they don’t matter though.
On average you want more than less but I guess if you fill needs you could do okay with a 10th ranked class occasionally.

Not sure where to put this.

@CJ_Clarke1: Just posted an article “Possible Impact Transfers for UF” on the Big 3 Roll Up discussion board that includes a name many of you probably haven’t heard yet! https://big3rollup.com/discussion/recruiting-chat/possible-impact-transfers-for-uf/#post-73

Mentions David Reese's brother Stewart as a possible transfer in.

Reese has been talked about quite a bit in this thread.

Is your assessment of recruiting ability shifting for any of the staff? I don’t follow it as closely, but Robinson & Warren seem to connect well with recruits.
Still mediocre. Still in need of a couple of HR hitters but maybe its just a lack of adequate staff help. Hard to tell. Hard to know what the reason for being late to the game routinely.

We landed a nice haul of players. We seem to be filling our needs except for DL and safety and their is some time left and momentum.

The truth is damn near everything possible went right for us (dumpster fires at competitors, momentum for us) and we are still fifth in the SEC.

These ARENT Butters type panic reaches of kids who were otherwise going to FIU, N Texas, or Central Fl, but most arent first tier either.

Next year's class does show some promise of us at least being in the game with the first tier talent (five stars and high four stars). We will see.

I give Mullinz an A on the first year, but recruiting is still C to B-. Maybe it is still just an I. We will see.

We'll agree to disagree; all though I'm a big enough man to admit maybe my opinion of Jackson is worse because of how much better things got immediately when he was replaced.

But seriously though, Kyle Jackson in coverage:
Im pretty certain things will immediately get better when they are replaced next year too.

We just didnt have RFN and Wright on the roster this year.

I am a little stymied as to why they didn't play some of the more talented underclassmen. Trey Dean is a good example of that. he struggled at first but after four or five games was playing allsec level (or near) by the end of the year.
