ANY road win in conference play is a good win, no matter how ugly or lucky it is.
I completely disagree. This wasn’t a good win. It was a hanging on to the skin of your scrotum kind of win.

Basketball really comes down can you do enough to get a bid each year and can you make a run in the tourney every few years. A road win helps UF take a step toward getting a bid.

Well, essentially Arkansas lost this game from the beginning. We barely beat a team that had its worst game. I'll take it. We still have not improved our play. Has coaching improved? 10 other teams are outplaying us in the SEC and we're just starting to face that gauntlet. Like to have a the Florida team roaring down the stretch here. Disappointed

I can't think of a dumber plan than to do the opposite of what your fan base wants. Nobody wants to watch slow down b ball. That's not our identity as a basketball program.

Fell asleep during the 2nd half, but glad to wake up and see we won, no matter how ugly it was.

20 wins this year and I'll give White two more years after this one. 20 will be a tourney team, and I'm guessing with what I witnessed last night, a quick exit in March. I do expect significant improvement over the next two years with the current class coming in. Sweet 16 at a minimum.

This team getting to 20 wins is going to be a challenge. We're 9-5 right now, have zero consistency, and lack the ability to close out games.
Ranked teams we play in the final 17 games: UT and KY twice, @Aub, @MSU, @TCU. Alabama, A&M and Ole Miss are looking decent and White sucks vs. Vandy. We may win a couple of those ranked games, but we're also likely going to lose a couple we shouldn't, ala South Carolina. I imgaine we'll need to get deep into the SEC tourney to get to 20 wins and pull out an NCAA bid.

I'm having a hard time seeing 20 wins, and I tend to be an optimist.

There are 17 regular season games remaining.

We have yet to beat a ranked team, so I'm going to assume that we lose to all teams ranked 20 or higher, regardless of where we play them. That's 0-6 against #18 UK(twice), #3 Tenn (twice), #11 Auburn, and #14 Miss St

We have 6 home games remaining against unranked teams (Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Vandy, Mizzou, UGA, LSU). For the sake of argument, I'm going to optimistically assume that we go 5-1 in these games.

We have 5 road games against teams not in the top 20 (UGA, #25 TCU, Bama, LSU, Vandy). I'm going be very optimistic and say we go 3-2 in road games.

Put all of this together and we end up with 8 more wins, and an end of regular season record of 17-14. To get to 20 wins, we'd have to win 3 games in the SEC tournament. If we don't get an opening round bye, we would have to make it to the semifinals (top 4 teams) in the SEC tourney. If we get an opening round bye, we would have to make it to the SEC championship game.

Sure, it's possible, but even with a lot of optimism, based on what we've seen so far this year, it just doesn't seem likely.

Slow down BB only works if you have a really good inside game, plus guys who can make 40% from the 3-point line. You have to have an inside-out game to make a time consuming offense work. Our 2 national championship teams could do both and that's what made them so great. They could play the fast break, press style or they could play a halfcourt game and beat you either way. This year's team has a very weak inside game and we aren't shooting it well from outside either. So it only makes sense to press as much as you can and speed the game up to try to get easy baskets and wide open shots.

Florida won 57-51. Lots of positives

1. We played way better offensively, but couldn't hit a thing. We shot 6-26 for 3pters and almost everyone of them was wide open

2. We played at a faster tempo until white went full stall balk choke artist again

3. White realized Stone isn't playing well and he only played him 13 min

Lots of negatives

1. Hudson started at PF

2. White choked the game away playing stall ball up 16 with 5 min left. Telling the players to run clock instead of offense when they broke the press

3. We suck against a press

4. Tennessee is next lol

Giving all of Hudson's minutes to others could be a swing of 6-10 points our way (minus his defense fails & offense flops).

I do understand that White wanted to reward Hudson for stepping up in practice, and I'm sure he hopes that Hudson can get his old offensive intensity back, and at least not suck defensively.

Tennessee is the 10th ranked scoring offense in the country. Florida is the 10th ranked scoring defense in the country. I believe Saturday will be interesting...Go Gators!

It has to be faulty practice-style. Neglecting the mental aspects that guide athleticism? I notice on the dribbling (especially standing still) they bounce the ball all the way up to their jersey #. That precludes quickness. Close to the floor dribbling allows for quicker reaction, causing the defense to lag too late to defend, to cut off, to block the pass receiving next guy. We do not see opponents chasing our ball movement. Tight dribbling can be instilled in practice & it involves a mindset. To notice if we're well coached you just have to compare our play-style to the play-style of similar opponents.

I'm not commanding that we fire White ... just that we give a coach the management discredit he earns. It all adds up to a conclusion when it does.

Good input, but if you shoot the ball at say 50% last year and today 30% jump shooting that is not coaching.

Now I wondered why coach did not call a time out to stem the flopping that made the game close. Fortunately Allen shot his free throws and was the person who they fouled.
