At this point we need to show improvement and then hope the class White has coming in can score points and defend

Mike White is in their head and not in a good way.

When an entire team fails and not one shines, nobody works well together, it's poor coaching. It is surely flawed ongoing coaching of practices. Additionally, this is not the coaching we want applied to next year's great class -- if they remain committed? The trouble is blatantly visible and the solution is buckle-down good coaching. They ain't getting that in the least. {Oh my, Hudson ain't helping himself and he's hurting us = so what's a coach to do?}

As missing ingredients from last year, don't forget Egor's scoring and settling effect. Still, every coach loses good players every year. White had enough returning experienced Gators to put a relevant SEC contender on the court this year. There is 10 better winning coaches in the SEC this year - legitimately earning a March Madness spot.

Opposing coaches coach their 6'8" inside game to soundly defeat our 6'8" forwards' game that ain't inside??
By appearance, we have no coherent bball mindset, just 5 "no idea" guys dribbling too high, too erect, in no drive-threat posture? Teaching, drilling-in, how to dive for loose balls?? Honestly, I have not once seen us show a deficit in our diving for loose balls? Have you noted any non-diving cost us a victory? Now White's coaching them to 'think' before they dive?

What skills, what efforts most contribute to an offense causing the opposing defense to be "back on their heels", stumbling, lagging to keep up, caught out of position, etc. {we're causing none of that}? To force a defense to falter, our ball handlers must lean forward {at the ready}, dribble rapidly below-the-knees to out-quick the defender, execute quick-response drives with your teammates knowing where to quick-position to complete the upcoming play. This quickness mindset involves fierce movement without the ball, very fast powerful passing that defenders cannot catch up with -- you know, on and on with bball-style that our guys aren't trained in.??

This season, for the University of Florida, coach White is not doing his job, therefore the players cannot learn.
So what if next season we have 5* freshmen if White leads them to 50% of their potential.?? White needs to make a change or UF needs to make a change.

We haven't been very good offensively since Egbunu got hurt in March of 2017. We were able to mask it
to some extent because we had really good perimeter defenders , and guys like Leon and Devin who
were both really good in crunch time at making shots. Throw in Kevaughn and Cheese and it's a pretty
good team even without big Jon. Unfortunately since then we lack the player like Devin Robinson who could
defend 1-4 without blinking an eye, finish at the rim and make the clutch shots. The closest thing
we have to him on offense is Hudson, and he appears lost half the time on defense to go along
with missing what seems like every shot this season. It's been a frustrating year no doubt.

In a way it’s nice to see more people coming around to the real state of Gator basketball. After reading the comments here I am glad to see that in Whites fourth year some have stopped blaming Donovan and others have stopped blaming roster gaps and finally come to the realization that White completely owns the product we are seeing. All those so-called crappy players White inherited now appear to be much better than the current roster. Although Billy recruited Hayes, Stone, and Allen, they never played a game for him and their complete lack of development falls on White. Every game we play is impacted by questionable coaching moves including everything from strategy to lineup decisions. If we’re honest with ourselves we can admit that our illustrious former AD went for another training wheels coach for a well established program that needs a proven winner. I have said this before but the balance of the SEC wanted to be Florida so they hired proven winners such as Barnes, Howland, Pearl and Johnson and Fooley decided to turn the clock back two decades. Some say we should give White time but how much time did Barnes, Howland and Pearl need to build top twenty teams? At this rate we should be in the market next spring. Maybe Stricklin sees the light

I've seen plenty of reasons to question White this season (that many have already articulated); but he isn't being helped by our upperclassmen playing poorly and by a tough schedule (we have the 6th toughest schedule per the announcers this weekend).

He's the coach and it's ultimately his responsibility (and in bringing up the schedule...it should also be mentioned that he has an inexplicable and inexcusable loss to South Carolina in there); but I'm not throwing in the towel on him as a coach just yet. He needs to show improvement down the stretch and if nothing else to get development from the freshmen. If we fail to win tomorrow against a good Mississippi State team...then stop playing guys like Hudson and Hayes and focus on the freshmen who will be here longer. If we aren't getting to the tournament this year, might as well plan for the future and give the freshmen more minutes.

Always criticizing the players heart and effort . The gators have vastly improved their defense but at the same time taken the offense to one of the worst in the country . White solution is to have the " longest practices in my coaching career " " and if it hurts the offense I don't care " and it shows . The gators run out of gas late in the half and at end of games . Their body language says they are beaten down physically and emotionally .When the top teams in the country are averaging around 90 the gators are lucky to get into the 60 s it's painful to watch . What in the hell happened to the positive upbeat coach white that ran an uptempo score in transition offense ? I want him back

Coaching matters......see butters.....Mike White is not qualified to be a Head Basketball Coach in the SEC, especially at the University of Florida.

You just can't run your players to death during the damn season....time for a new coach.

I'm sure Stricklin has a short list. Listen to some of the crap when White is miked up and look at end of game coaching.

Even the salesperson at the flooring store this morning was complaining about White's offense. I've got to agree. And why do the Gators always seem to be smaller than their opponents? Can't they recruit some inside talent?

60 Years? We're talking sixty (60) years. I've been paying attention for 54 years. I'm pretty sure I can find worse.

If this team fails to reach the NIT then I think he's gone, you know Stricklin wants to put his stamp on the program.

Yep. White is in over his head. Good recruiter. Mediocre coach.

Plus as a cowbell alumnus he probably won't show too much favoritism toward an ole piss guy.

Gosh I can't remember when the last time someone mentioned that Mike was a terrible half court offensive basketball coach. Let's see, people like myself, Leefor3, and many others have mentioned it for the better part of 3 years.

10 SEC coaches better than us and add in Leonard Hamilton having FSU something like 13-3 and absolutely stomping us right out the gate. White needs a smaller program to put on his training wheels. UF needs an HC that knows and really respects inside play to go with sharpshooters, someone like John Thompson of Georgetown -- yeah, that's the ticket.

Yeah White pretty much done for. So who is on our head coach short list? Who are the top 3 or 5 we target to replace White?

If White stays, or we get another HC, it'd be nice to have as an assisstant coach a past Gator true "big man".
Marreese Speights is playing in China. Recruit him and he can physically bang with our tall prospects.
Check to see if Chris Richard is serviceable? Too bad Joakim Noah wouldn't pass the morals-legal clause. We need to plant the thought in their minds. Someday, somebody just might pay off.?? I am so tired of UF ignoring the inside 65% FGs. We will always need a dual-threat team - inside/outside.

When Foley hired White, he said one of the reasons was because he ran a similar system to Billy D. Foley must have not actually watched any of White's coaching.
