On target, DGDad. White seems to have no capacity for bravery = benching Hudson, giving more practice training to better per-minute performers to become permanent contributors. From preseason to season's outset, White should have pressured "insiders' coach" Pinkins to shove into improved-play all 6'8" or taller forwards. Hayes 6'8" 227lbs, ,... Stokes 6'8" 270 lbs ... Bassett 6'9" 237 lbs ... Stone 6'8" 253 lbs ?? Stone & Bassett have a decent shooting touch. No way coaching cannot relentlessly train that crew into aggressive inside scoring bunch. White is not relentless about developing skills neglected skills. These kids come here to develop the skills to become a better, more rounded player. But White says he doesn't know what to do? If we had a 15% to 25% improving developing inside game would our W-L be 10-4 maybe. Once we got a 10 point lead our 65% inside shooters could maintain a winning lead. But nooo, White's got "big-man" trainer Pickins teaching 'em how to dive, go-low to the floor.
For some unseen reasons, White falls behind 10 other SEC coaches in coaching ability. UF has not collected athletes who cannot keep up with 10 opposing SEC teams.?? Next year, with those young 5*s will White win a little better, getting 50-60% of their potential out of them -- maybe start them right off diving for loose balls? Say we keep those 5* commits, then it seems obvious their talents White will squander if he doesn't coach a more useful inside/outside attack. Also, our big men getting defensive rebounds is a major part of defensive effectiveness.
