So it’s been sooo many years and mind altering confections since then I’m trying to remember all the details and wondering if some can fill in the dropped brain cells.

The day started at the stadium with 20-30k fans. Don’t remember how we all knew to show up there. Not sure what we did most of the time. Paper fights? I remember We Are the Champions blaring over the stadium speakers. And then the UF plane with the players returning from KY did a fly by. Did we wait at the stadium for the players to show up from the airport?

Then the party spilled out to the streets. While my GF drove, I hung out the window high fiving everyone as we drove up and down University. Had a sore arm the next day. The intersection at 13th st was impassable at times. Partied all night, got laid. Good times, Good times.

I remember University Ave was gridlocked from 13th street down to the stadium with cars and people all over the road. It went on for hours from the time the game ended, I think it ended about 3 or 4 o’clock until everyone spilled into the stadium at about 7 o’clock to wait for the team to show up from Kentucky. After that everyone went back out onto University until the wee hours of the morning.

Yes, we waited for the players. They were pretty stoked when they got there.

(At least that’s how I remember it)

I have a framed resolution of the Florida legislature declaring 1984 to be the “Year of the Gator” that I want to donate to a good charity. I was thinking about Dooley’s golf tournament. What do you guys suggest?

I have the coke bottles but damn they are fading.

Don't worry World of Coke in Atlanta has one of these bottles, immortalizing it.

Wasn't there in body but was there in spirit. My time in Gainesville was long over and I had moved on. I followed the '84 Gators on the radio and television. I said finally we have a team that knows how to go for jugular.

Great football teams excel in all areas. That was the case that year. That team had no weakness. Fun to go back and revisit from your video, Joe.

Remember that night well. We all packed up and went over to Gainesville after listening to the game on the radio. Gainesville was fun that night.

I was there. But on the hood of my 82 Ford Granola (which had a permanent dent afterward). One of Gville's finest finally said back in the car, sir. I wanted to build a bon fire in the middle of univ and 13th like happened after UF beat Bama in 63. Wasnt gonna happen in 84. That was the last time they left Univ ave open for a celebration I think. I was very excited that day. We finally won it. I still have the 84 SEC title tag. Orange with blue lettering......
