Mullen hired said guy with low character. I've been super supportive of Mullen. It's his house. Don't hire scumbags? I honestly don't know the answer but you can't be blindsided like this...that said...it's kill or be killed.

I see your point about the hire looking bad at this point in time. And as the captain of the ship, DM is responsible for the actions and failures of his staff. But without some previous "bad act" that serves to cast a reasonable shadow of doubt on a person's character, predicting this kind of treachery can be all but impossible. My take is that DM must take a lesson here, and perhaps be a little more "loyalty conscious" in his future hires. But the greatest fault by far lies with the snake oil salesman in Athens, and his newest addition to Kirby's merry band of thieves and liars.

I'm not bashing Mullen but having a guy leave for your rival the day one of your top recruits is visiting said rival is a bad look.
I know his name is Elam, but he isn't a need in this class, at all.

Kirby is a scumbag who would screw his own sis and sell tickets to it. No respect should be given that jackwagon from here out. This was a calculated move and our former coach Warren is a key contributor to the plot to steal Elam. Warren's a piece of sh!t for playing in Smart's pigsty. F@ck 'em both. Smart is at the bottom of the well and is continuing to dig. This year would be a great time to beat the living hell out of the mutts.

people (mostly 2 guys) have been bashing Mullen for hiring too many of his buddies. So far, the 2 defections have been from the group that he didn't have long term working relationships with. When assistants pull **** like this, it's easier to understand why a head coach would want to stick to the people he can trust (of course as soon as knox, BG, or hevesy leave, law will dig this up :) )

Am I the only one who is not disappointed with these defections? I thought our defensive tackle play was average at best for most of the season and we had some good play at DE, but those were out better players. Don't think replacing Sunseri will be difficult. Our CB's seemed to play with poor technique which continued into late in the season. Watching a guy like Dean not improve his technique was disappointing b/c he got to play a lot. I don;t view these coaching losses as monumental at all in terms of player development.

I could not agree more. Well said.

The final outcome could very well be to our advantage, especially if Elam sees through this crap. I agree that neither is a big loss and improvement in both areas is quite attainable. Stay tuned.

To me, this speaks more about Grantham than Mullen.
This says nothing of Mullen or Granthan. It speaks volumes that assistant coaches will leave at the drop of a hat to earn a few more dollars. This is on Sunseri & Warren. Hopefully Elam realizes that Warren will be coaching somewhere else next year.

I don't think Elam will go to UGA. They have a freshman 5* starting and five 4* players trying for the other CB spot.
If he comes to UF, he & Steele are starting in 2020.
