5 teams that'll get plenty of hype this offseason

Never understood this type of thinking. Was he suppose to lose two games on purpose?

Jimbo gets way too much credit too. He’s a perennial 4 loss coach aside for two years with a heisman qb. Winston still threw 18 INTs year two. He’s a mediocre coach, beyond bloated qb coach, and won’t win the west for years.
100% right on. I have said the same thing. He will be exposed.

Regardless of how things play out in 2019, we should all be glad that Gators are back in national spotlight in a positive way. It's about damn time!

Yeah Jimbo was a slew of missed calls, lucky plays, miracle plays, and 7 overtimes away from being 7-5 last year. I'm not impressed and have never been impressed. Even the year he won the title, that schedule was an absolute f*cking joke.

Texas was still a 4 loss team and lose a ton to graduation this offseason. I don't care if their douche bag coach thinks their QB is the next Tebow, he's not.

Oregon? Seriously? I mean I guess they have a good coach and a good recruiting class, but I was never that impressed with them last year.

And Nebraska? 4-8 Nebraska???? They didn't have a single win away from home, and the "best" team they beat was either 7-6 Minnesota or 7-6 Michigan St. Their other two wins were Bethune-Cookman and Illinois. GMAFB. I'm ready for the Scott Frost hype train to derail off a bridge into a ravine.
And book a seat for Jimbo right next to him.

The entire offense goes as the Oline goes. I'm seeing some really tough times next year. The D will have to carry the load. But can they?

Respectfully disagree, at least to an extent. I expect some growing pains too, but seriously tough times, not so much. I just can't forget how lame the OL was, for years and years, and years under the previous 2 regimes. DM and staff turned the same bunch of under-performing, career long disappointments into a competent SEC OL, in just over half a season. And this year, they won't be starting from scratch with a bunch of out of shape nincompoops who have to have the fundamentals of playing their positions explained to them in single syllable words, due to a complete lack of familiarity with proper technique. Some losses this year? Yes, 1-3 would be my guess. A serious step backward? I just don't see it.

We probably win 9-10 games -- 10 I think. Those games we barely won last year, well we should win them again in 2019, but with a bit more control. Maybe we win one less of those, but surely we beat UK this time. Missouri shouldn't beat us with their new QB?
That leaves the WLOCP as our newfound destiny. UGa has shown some fall-apart weaknesses?

So a CFB season can contain surprises. Will we be surprised by winning 11? This will be our guys' 1st year of "confidence without mystery-doubts" - that includes coaches and players. Everybody is aiming for the best for a change.

Younger line and harder schedule. I expect us to be a better team, but we might have more losses.

Well I'm pretty confident that everyone on this board will stay pretty grounded. I seriously don't think anybody will flip the F out when we lose a game or two.
I'm not going to be grounded if we lose to trash teams like UK and Mizzu again.

The line will be more talented, and will have two years of nonyoga S&T, and working with a real OL coach.

I actually expect them to be improved.

I expect the talent to be improved and near the end of the season to be vastly improved. But wouldn't be shocked with growing pains as they gell.

I'm sure there are lots of teams that aren't "trash" that would have loved to be as successful as UK last year.
They were only successful bc they beat us.

And, yes, Kintucky is trash.

Ok, keep posting nonsense. They were a good team this year. The fact that they historically sucked means as much as the fact that we've won 3 titles. Zilch. They finished the season ranked 11/12 with a New Year's bowl win.

Of course, Florida was always better than that record suggested, and the coaching change showed it. Heading into Year Two under Mullen will be different.

I take issue with the "talent was better than the record suggested" -- I believe that Butters brought in Butters-at-a-big-school level talent and that Mullen REALLY coached them up to that level last season. There were talent gaps galore that only a good Xs/Os coach could get a 10-win season out of.

With the talent level now improving with competence and healing the massive wounds the incompetent Butters created, that coaching level with better talent should stabilize the franchise near the top again. But it will still take some moke and smirrors next year from this staff until the talent wounds are completely healed.

The talent isn't UF level talent, but it isn't Vandy, UK or Mizzu either.

The past 8 years of coaching was the dismantling type. UF's ability at drawing in talent was packed up and shipped out. With McElblame the pieces of the machinery were malformed so they did not fit together at all. Dan Mullen, most fueled by his 'love' of being at Florida, somehow got the pieces to fit, roughly and using the spirit-fix that he pushed, Dan got us success.

The very best quality UF has in Dan Mullen is that Florida is his dream job. It is the apex of where he has hoped to reach. He's just begun to reward us for taking him home.
