I stop every time I pass through Tallahassee.... to take a piss...

Reminds me of an old cartoon in Playboy magazine. High in the sky on Christmas Eve, Santa was standing and peeing over the side of his sleigh. One of the lead reindeer commented to his partner, "He does that every year when we fly over Newark."

Not a joke. HST always told his pilot to tell him when they were over Ohio. Visited the John and flushed.

I'm not a fan of Smith and I think he is a bit overrated at his position. Lee and Bowman are much better RB's and are the ones I take; I don't dick around with anyone else

Here is Mullen's comments on 2020's needs (from a 247 article):

"(Interior defensive line is) going to be a focus for us, especially position flexibility," Mullen said. "Not just the big guys inside, but the guys that can play end or tackle, a little bit bigger bodies, is going to be a huge part of this upcoming recruiting class for us in 2020. Receivers is going to be a big aspect for us, with four senior wide receivers on the roster this year."

- No less than 4 WR's in the 2020 class
- Probably 3 or more DT/SDE's

I'm curious what they'll do w/ OL. I'd like to see 4. Agree we need an 'in-line' TE. I expect we may see an extra OL in short yardage/goal line - which is something Meyer liked to do.

Keon is actually an excellent blocking TE. But also has great hands. If Keon turns out, then we probably need the in-line more for jumbo packages.

Gervon Dexter is a 6’6, 260 SDE. As a junior. He’ll get reps as a frosh. Get 2 more monsters on the interior and it’ll be gravy.

As for OL, I would think 3-4. But we’re not in panic mode because we have depth. We missed on A LOT of elite kids we targeted for 2019. I think we zero in on them and get them this year.

We'll be fighting off Clemson for Tim Smith at DT. He's apparently the top target....and I hope we get him; he's a Florida kid and we need to stop letting the out of state programs cherry pick (plus he's a complete badass!). Manny Rogers is another we're after.

Getting Dexter and Brown early is big (wish the NC kid stuck, but we have others in-state that are just as good).

Agree on OL numbers. I hope Keon can be "that" TE. I'm really looking forward to seeing how much Krull improves - he's got the size to be an all-around TE.

Clemson already has 2 top rated DTs in their 2020 class so their 247 guru CB him to us.

I agree. Less than 10 called runs per game is ideal for the qb in this system -

Sometimes I think you have a good grasp on football then sometimes you do this.

This is never going to be a 10 carry offense bc the defense decides (if the QB reads properly) whether the QB gives or keeps.

Hell the defense also basically decides if the QB calls a QB power by moving giys out of the box.

Our offense didnt work last year UNTIL Franks started running and making the defenses account for him instead of just taking the give or toss.

Mullinz isnt going to stop calling options as about 80% of runs. It is who he is.

But did Franks run it 10 times a game at that point? Honest question, because I don’t know. It didn’t seem like it...

Thanks Coach. I was on pins and needles waiting for you to chime in....

For the record, I've clearly said that Franks was a different QB the last 4 games of the year...when Mullen finally let him run. Personally, I would like to see less than 10 runs by the QB (other than scrambles/busted plays). I said "10" because I think that's a good number to effectively run this offense and - keeping the defense honest - and also keeping the QB protected (especially when the QB is not a "running QB", which Beck is not). I haven't watched much of Beck's tape yet, but I know he's an athlete so I suspect if he needs to run he can run.

But thanks again Coach. Can't wait for your thoughtful analysis of this offense you know so much about...but truly hate.

That isnt the point. The point is if you have a QB who is a poor RB then the defense will force that QB to keep instead of giving on every option.

That's the key, the defense can't count on anything. Pick your poison and when you do we are going to hit your weak spot using ALL players.
