Ask yourself this. If Fromm is so secure in his job then why is he constantly having to look over his shoulder and why did they use Fields on the most crucial plays in the 4th quarter?

Those are not good signs for a QB that has the job locked up. They have a deep seated doubt in Fromm because he has proven to be more of a game manager than anything else.
Smart's obviously not the brightest bulb in the box. He was trying to copycat Georgia's fourth-down fake conversion against Bama in the 2012 SECCG -- that time with him as opposing DC. Except this time, he decided to use his backup quarterback as the up back. Not the Bama would take one look at Fields in punt formation and think anything was up.

Fields got maybe one other play than that. He became a function of Smart's growing paranoia as a sideline coach. He flat out sucks.

some people just have hate dwag glasses on in perpetuity. listen i get it, i hate them too, but not enough to claim my eyes are lying. as of right now, fromm and haskins are 1A and 1B as far as top qb's the nfl will want. I'd give the edge to fromm b/c hes in a prostyle system. at any rate, the kid is as good as ive seen in a long time. makes all the throws with extreme accuracy and is like 80% completion rate when blitzed; highest in the country. You cant teach that. if he plays as well next year as this year he will be the #1 pick as a junior. please stop with the "hes clearly limited" narrative, its just homerism.

Exactly. Fromm is exactly what he was clearly expected to be. A very good QB who performs quite well, especially when surrounded by a very good OL, receivers and running backs. I'm still as puzzled today about Fields to Georgia as the day he made his verbal commitment.

He's not looking over his shoulder at all. The OC and ultimately the HC are the ones that insist on inserting Fields into the game plan. Even Danielson commented on how contrived his appearance was during one of their drives. And that's simply to appease their top recruit, not because of anything Fromm has done or not done. So far, Fromm has done nothing to warrant any questions about who the starter should be. He's played really well and has this job until he leaves.

As Williston said, I wouldn't throw out the overrated label on Fields. He isn't in a system that fits his skillset(which everyone knew all along) and doesn't have an OC that's creative enough to use him. So with that said, I'd completely disagree with your assertion that we'd rather face Fromm than Fields. From the limited sample size so far, I'd much rather face an athlete trying to run an odd-fit system than to see Fromm for more than one more season.

Or finally freed them.

Instead of maybe sending a message that kids and their parents need to do a better job in selecting a school, rather than living on social media, trolling fanbases and making foolish decisions with their lives, we've decided to give them a complete pass and bend the rules because they're having second thoughts. At some point, these kids have to learn accountability. This only compounds the problem and will eventually bites us the way it's biting uga.

Look forward to seeing what the justification was. And yes, they have opened Pandora's box. I fear we will look back on this as a turning point in ending the greatness of college football.

To be fair, I didn't complain when Grimes and Jefferson were cleared for us. They had two choices; deny everyone or clear everyone. The frustrating part about the NCAA has always been it's selective responses and punishments. They have been consistent with these for a change. Hopefully they get the rest of their act straightened out one of these days.

Granting immediate eligibility over NCAA sanctions and coaching changes is one thing. Granting immediate eligibility because you couldn’t get off the bench is another. I think we all know they did it because he told him he feared for his safety after a baseball player used the N word and it was captured on social media.
The NCAA runs scared of the liberal media like every other institution in this country.

I transferred in undergrad. Didnt have to sitout a year. Why should it be different for anyone else?
