That’s a stretch. The 2012 defense was one of our all time greatest

I believe the Defensive Coordinator that year is now a NFL head coach, maybe he had something to do with that defense? Maybe?

No ... He was a success at USC. Right? And that is my point ... at USC, those mediocre SEC team years are success. And yes ... he needed the job! He got fired from the Redskins and he wanted to get back into the SEC.
Actually, he resigned from the Redskins. They were not going to fire him, though if things hadn't gotten better the next season, they probably would have then.

@Swamp Donkey ... how do I always seem to end up in a discussion that puts me in a defense of chump role? I swear ... I was never a fan of him at any time. But somehow, even though I call him chump in this thread, I am defending him. What I am really doing is talking down USC, not talking up chump.
Got it! You love Muschamp!

Am I going to get every poster on here to quote that comment and mention Quinn? We’re on a roll right now 4 pages in.

Calling Muschamp a bad D coordinator is a stretch. That doesn’t mean he’s great. But not good is a stretch.

Their fanbase (**** them they turned on SOS) is finally coming around to the fact that they hired a complete lemon of a head coach. Tanner won't fire him after this year since the slate is so brutal, much like Foley didn't after we lost to Georgia Southern (the injuries remember?). This will set their program back further, like us, when they finally can him after the 2020 season.

Outside of that year in which we were extremely loaded his defenses were ass. The numbers were skewed because teams usually shut their offense down in the 2nd half due to our terrible offense. I've never been overly impressed with him as a dc.
What he said!

Overpaid POS. He should be embarrassed to be that bad. SC's problems are their own and they should hang their AD.

He's a chimp. He may get lucky on occasion, but he has the brain capacity of a medium aged golden retriever and will never be a thorn in the side of a competently coached UF team.

This an absolute outrage. This breed is as fine a companion as a man can find.
For shame Sofla!:)

Growing up a SC fan, I don't think moral has ever been worse here. Everyone knows this state is too small to have two power houses. SC had beaten Clemson 5 years in a row, three of them with Dabo at the helm. They made fun of Dabo. Clemson stayed with Dabo and now they basically co rule with Alabama.

I tell all them, look, if you can't win at UF, why do think he can win at SC. A year ago they told me , "well UF did not give Muschamp time. We feel like the can be great. Give him time like Dabo." Now they understand 2019 will be a lost year and Clemson not slowing down. The think the only hope is Dabo goes to Bama eventually and maybe they can win the state.

SC fans are loyal. But I give them grief for having the SEC east banner in the stadium.

I have a hard time seeing Muschamp going better than 6-6 with that schedule. And as the losses mount and the "noise" gets louder it could spiral out of control. I'm curious what happens if he goes 5-7 or worse. They did just sign a solid class w/ a very good QB. But you're right, he ain't competing w/ Clemson anytime soon.

The amount of grips needed to be had will be at an all-time high.

He would take it in a heartbeat. He was about to land Tennessee last year, but UT fired the guy making the hire.
Tennessee is ten times the job USC is.

In my opinion, a coach like the Chimp is the best they can get. They aren't ever winning more than 9 games in the next 50 years. Book it.

I'll book it. But, 50 years from now, if it turns out that you're wrong...well...I'll just let this thread be and pretend this conversation never happened.
