:woohoo:

If we get the chance to upgrade at DC, too, this will be the perfect offseason.

To me this falls into the category of "be careful what you wish for". Should he leave there is no guarantee that the new hire is a candidate that everyone would consider an upgrade. You could potentially find yourself in mid-season 2019 thinking "Gee, Ole Todd wasn't such a bad DC after all".

Edit: I realize that SD is never going to think that....no matter what may occur!

If Grantham gets offered the job he will most likely take it.

I think Grantham is a good DC, but he is not irreplaceable.

That will never happen.

Mullinz has made great hires so far and no dwag is a good dwag.

Lets hope the dwag doesnt choke in this interview.

Asking this because I don't really know. When a DC is hired, is it typical that the DC gets assistants he trusts?

They don't fire the current staff, usually, unless the HC is cleaning house on that side of the ball.

Really not much concern about losing staff on our side. None of those guys are NFL guys.

It would be nice to lose English.

Christian Robinson the only guy that's really a Grantham guy. I wouldnt mind losing the last dwag, but he doesn't have the resume regardless. He was a graduate assistant 12 months ago. He didn't really have the resume to get our job.

I'd worry about him taking torrian gray with him.
Im not. He wanted back to Fla very badly.

But he was also smart enough to know a shytshow when he saw it.

Grantham doesnt have a staff that follows him around. He is respected as better than average but not liked much. I have a close family friend who worked for him. When I asked if he might go to UF w Grantham, he said hell no. Not til he is gone. You will notice that most of his staff seem to agree and not follow him.

From Torrian's comments about his stint with the skins, it sounded like he wants to stay in college. He did well with young guys like Dunbar, but his coaching style didn't resonate at all with vets. It seemed to bother him. I think he found out college football is where he wants to spend the rest of his career.

Yeah, that and if we had a couple more big butts....
This guy could kill both those birds with one stone and he just turned the Patriots defense around this year...…

Yes, the intern with no job title, well known to be the assistant janitor, had so much to do with the Patriots' defense.

What I did notice is that Arky landed almost as many bluechippers as Ugly this year.... just like Bobby Petrino used to do. Amazing that only one coach couldn't recruit there.

You think we want a repulsive guy who is the worst recruiter ever at his former job? Who can't even land a position coach job now?
