The Halifax hamster email exchange was hilarious. Then...they pulled the plug and instead of admitting they had ignored the board for far too long and would do some upgrades, they blamed the shutdown on “disruptive posters”. Morons.
I googled Oxrageous and found this place a few days later. Many of us kept spamming all the comment sections from the articles on the Sun’s page with links and mentions of this place and it took off pretty quickly.

When the Hailifax thread was started, I just finished reading David Thorne's website. My Halifax email exchange was simply a lame attempt to try to duplicate his humor.
Here is one of his funniest email exchanges between him and a secretary. I am warning you his website is addictive:
"yeah thats not what I was looking for at all."
I panicked when the board was shut down. I begged for forgiveness and placed the bag on my head in shame when I attempted to signup here. Ox, naturally, laughed his ass off. Kudos to you Ox for this site.

When GSMB vanished, I was downtrodden - found GatChat and got trodden down.
To those sent reeling by insults, GatorChatter necessitates physical exercises to thicken your skin = callouskinics.

Love this site. Thanks to Ox and all who contributed in bringing it to life. Typically I'm just lurking here, so Ox picked an appropriate avatar for me, but this is my go to place for news, venting, and just plain laughing about the Gators. Long live GatorChatter!!!

I was honestly so sick of gsmb by then I stopped caring altogether. They reset like 4-5 times before that, lost all of my posts and just was fed up. I went over to 247 for a few years, and still to this day have more posts over there than here. I tried that one site that cap and everyone was at but it was boring so I just gave up for a few years. Ox still holds it against me for not really posting the first few years of GCMB

Law brought me over here. Once GSMB came back up I made a post.....and he IM'd me and told me about chatter.
I probably started posting on GSMB around 2008 after I got disgusted with gatorcountry. I was a founding member there, joining in 1997. They let the place go to sh*t (and it still hasn't recovered). I posted under a different username there and at 247.
Glad Ox built this place. But most of you people make me sick!!

After one of the GSMB resets I actually had the highest post count at that s hole. 
Actually before the implosion, I was rescued by a private site, where, thanks to '78, we watched the Halifax self inflicted demolition of GSMB, and laughed our asses off. Thankfully Ox came to the rescue. I didn't think he would pull it off. Boy was I wrong.

I lurked at GSMB for about 10 years before joining in 2013. Then it was shuttered. I received an email that it was up and running again so I rejoined only to see someone post about Gator Chatter. The rest is history.

I'm glad all you bozos can reminisce about all your fond memories of the transition. I for one was left behind to deal with the scraps that were left at GSMB.
Bottom line is you guys left me behind for months. Maybe a year.
It was so long that I missed becoming a founding member.
Law was one of my biggest pains in the ass at GSMB, but I will credit him for finally showing up and rescuing me from the island of misfit toys and inviting me to Gator Chatter. Ox never did.
I've never forgotten, or forgiven, you guys for this. It is what makes me so insecure around here and why I have attachment issues.
Several of us contacted Ox and he play around some ideas.
When GSMB went down how the hell did you contact Ox? What, do all you guys live in the same trailer park?
From there he sent notifications to those of us that he had a good contact address for.
I got crickets. Nothing.
Once GSMB was backup, I certainly hunted for members and sent them personal messages. I know others did too.
Nope. Didn't happen. I was stranded on an uninhabited island. I was checking in at GSMB every few weeks and it was just the same 3 posters that showed up after the crash. Guys I'd never heard of.
At least 100 members found us by going to my podcast site, where I had a link posted.
