We hosted Carollwood Day School (Tampa) yesterday ("building relationships"......the opposite of what Butters did):

I'm not sure what position Griffis will grow into, but I can guarantee he will be one of the strongest players on the team the day he steps on campus, if not the strongest.

Joseph's HUDL says he bench presses 405, squats 415, and runs a 4.67 40. If accurate, that's pretty impressive for a HS junior. Do you have Griffis numbers?

Watching his highlights makes it clear he’s a 4 star DE. He has room to add a lot of weight and is incredibly athletic. I’ve read a few articles that say he doesn’t have an array of moves. He bullies o-linemen with a bull rush or bursts around them. Turner will have to develop him.

Benchpress 405 pounds? I highly doubt that.

By the way, if you were talking about a DL or OL then it’s feasible. There is an OL out of Lake City or Live Oak that benched around 500 pounds. As a junior.

But a linebacker? I’m not saying impossible. But it’s not really believable.

The guy I saw was probably 5’10, 230 ish. Not a small guy but not a lineman either.

He still works out at his hometown gym in Starke. I have a co-worker that sees him there and has been raving about his strength for three years now. He was admitted into IMG based off his strenth not so much his speed. I'm sure I can get his #s just not sure how long it will take.
