Well let’s look at it.

Miami- easy win. 35-10. If not worse than this honestly. Big rivalry game, Mullen understands those and understands what this could do for some swing recruits. Doesn’t want it close if he can help it. See quite a bit of Jones.

TN-Martin- 62-9. Blowout.

UK- 49-17. They don’t have the horses they did last year and this will be payback.

UT- 41-14. Again. Blowout. They’re terrible. Getting better and very talented along the oline but Guantanamo Bay is a terrible qb and they won’t move the O much.

Towson- is there an echo in here? Blowout. 56-6

Auburn- I’ll bring this back down to earth a bit because Gus is such a wild card coaching. Think we sneak a hard fought one out here 24-20

LSU- idk. I really don’t. But fvkk the corn dog smelling Cajuns anyways. 17-13 Florida

South Carolina- Mullen processes Chumpelwain with a 42-17 victory.

Georgia- win one for the Zipper(er). Prized TE recruit catches a TD deep into the 4th, Fromm gets sacked as time expires and gators pull one out 27-21 (sound familiar?)

Vanderbilt- Mullen grabs his junk and mouths “fvkk you” to Mason as gators trounce Vandy 52-20

Missouri- bowl ban. Nothing to play for. Gators finally beat the Tigers 28-17

Florida State- Mullen puts the biggest beat down in rivalry history, 55-3, taggelwain moon walks out of the swamp with out his dignity or job

12-0 Regular season.

We should be improved from last year, but it's a tough schedule. I think 10-2 with all of the losses happening sometime in Oct. Should still go to a good bowl, and have another great shot at a top 10 finish.

We should be improved from last year,
It might take the offensive line half a season or so to play as a unit. The guys last year weren't great but they had a lot of experience and played a lot of football next to one another. I was impressed with what Franks did last year but he still struggles when pressured...
I think we will have to win some "ugly" games next year to see 10 wins but we could do it.

Of course he did. My point is that our LBs and safeties couldnt cover anyone, not just Nauta. Our corners will be fine but Ugly has other TEs and RBs to destroy us.
Did ugas RBs catch a single pass against us? Or are you talking about running the ball?

9-3, worse case

Loss to UGA
50/50 games with Auburn and LSU
One loss to someone we shouldn’t lose to

Could certainly do better. UGA should have a lot of their talent hitting stride and leaving after this year, but coaching will keep us competitive.

I agree w/ this. We could very well pull an upset vs. UGA, but they still significantly out-talent us (thanks to Butters sh*tty recruiting).

Agree on both the 50/50 games (I'd actually say that LSU may be 60/40 their favor).

And the "loss to someone we shouldn't" - we travel to Missouri, who has had our number.... Since it's an opener, Miami does have some talent and they'll be as fired up as we are (I think we win though)..... no way we lose at home to FSU..... We should right the ship vs. UK.... SC isn't going to roll over, and it's a road game. Who knows? Hopefully we play with more mental toughness.

I don’t see it. I think 3rd year is going to be strong.

If Franks improves this year AND returns in year 3 I could agree. If we're breaking in a new QB I don't see it happening. Year 4 w/ a 2nd year QB is more realistic in this case - but then we're going to see the heavy DL deficiency rear it's ugly head (if we don't have a great heavy DL class this year).

Mullen will make the correct decision re QB. He's shown he can get people open in space if we make the plays. I'm good either way.

OL, OL, OL. That's my concern. As it is every year but with Miami as the opening game it concerns me more this year.
As far as I know (not counting frosh) these are our options. (yr/games/starts)

LT: Gouraige SO 2/0, Jean Delance JR 4/0
LG: Heggie JR 17/0, TJ Moore SO 2/0
C: Buchanan SR 14/12, McDowell SO 2/0
RG: Bleich S0 4/0
RT: Forsyth JR 15/15, Banks SR 12/1

So LG, C and RT are probably okay. Does Banks move to LT or RG? Gouraige was a 4* so it's time for him to show it.

Yes and no. Kintucky's RBs destroyed us with the run. And our LBs still can't cover anyone in pass coverage be it TE, H back, or RB.

I'm not really concerned about OL. We were averagish last year and we will be averagish again this year. We had experienced guys but their experience was being soft losers and doing PB&J and yoga. We will be younger but all the guys will have at least a year and a half of real S&C and a decent OL coach. On the OL, center bothers me the most. It's the least talented spot we have, by far.

Defense bothers me far more than OL. We will again be feather soft on the edge, soft in the middle and questionable at safety, I suspect (assuming English is still here). That bothers me more.

Kentucky destroyed us because it was the 2nd game of a new defense without our defensive leader.

Did any RBs beat us in the passing game? I know UK, uga, and mizzou didnt. Who did?

Our OL was averagish and ran for 2500 yards ? Sure. I definitely agree they weren't consistent, but isnt that a lot of yards to be average?

It sounds like you are just being negative to be negative.

That may not look great on paper but unlike 2011-2017 we are in a "user friendly" system for Offensive linemen(more zone blocking)….usually allows younger and less experienced linemen to think less and just go maul someone in a certain place.
If Franks hauls ass a little sooner when his protection isn't there he may help build the young guys confidence(turning potential sacks into positive gains)

Oh and it'll probably help that we have at least halfway decent offensive line coaching for a change and a HC/OC that can help scheme around the teams shortcomings.

My best case guess is 12-2, worst case is around 10-3, maybe 9-4. Too many unknowns to be more specific at this point.

10-2. One will be an unexpected loss.

These. Franks as a passer makes me think we lose at least one tight game due to his errors, but at the same time his “willingness” to not just run, but lower his shoulder and use his size makes me feel like the offense will run better over the course of the season.

The Miami game is huge and really sets a tone for the season.

With a solid 10-14 point win against Miami, I think we march on to that 12-2 season. If it’s a blowout, I fear we get overconfident and lose a ridiculous game (like UT) due to over confidence. With an unexpected loss (maybe the Oline has real problems early), I could see the whole season being in a disappointed funk (players and fans) with additional losses to Auburn, Dwags, and one of LSU, Cocks, or Missouri on a freezing cold day with little to play for at that point.
