I like this:
1. I live in the Orlando area so travel doesn’t effect me and I’m saying this so you know I’m biased up front.
2. Only game can be good exposure.
3. Don’t have to deal with traffic of Central Florida hosting their biggest home game in years (as I said elsewhere, plenty of travel to UCF on the 408/I-4 could’ve caused congestion.
4. Imagine being able to see all the good match ups week one.
5. An extra bye week/5 extra practices.
6. BNA, if you need a place to park the trailer let me know (I haven’t looked at your reaction yet so I’m spitballing)
7. You people could witness what is legitimately growing hatred in MLS the night before as Orlando hosts Atlanta United on the 23rd. (Well worth it if you’ve never been to a match).

Well we will have an excuse to make if something crazy happens this game. It seems like Doug Dickey was the only Gator coach that played them more than once to have a good record against this team.

Not a good idea, at least for me and my frat brothers. We have reunion planned in Orlando in conjunction with original date. Many, including me, have already booked our rooms at downtown Marriott. Although the reunion committee was in process of trying to get tix for the original date, there's no telling what will happen now.

Yes. My 4 yrs as a student, 1973 - 76 seasons, we beat them all 4 yrs. Plus yr game after I graduated in 77, so that was 5 in a row.

We should beat them on paper but I’ll always be nervous about Miami. They always seem to hang tough if they don’t beat us.

There’s hundreds if not thousands of stories like this. Moving the date of the game at this point is a middle finger to the fans. People.make plans well in advance for games like this. I’m not sure why ESPN doesn’t do the 150 year celebration at the Hawaii game. Might actually get people to watch it. Our game with Miami will get an audience regardless. Just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.

I disagree. I'm not planning to go to this game, but if I had been, my travel plans would already be made. Moving the game back a week would be a problem. Regardless, there's absolutely no reason to inconvenience our fans for this, even if I am exaggerating the impact. Our game is already one of the marquee games on the 31st. There's no reason to move it.
