Replaced my 120MB SS SATA drive with 1TB SATA. (Windows 10) Made a clone of original disk. New drive boots and runs great but the clone software only cloned the original 120MB, left the other 880MB in a unformatted partition..... Need a easy and safe way to make the unused partition usable...

Get an external hard drive and start over is my suggestion

Does this work reliably now?

Been using it on servers since server 2008 came out. I do it all the time on production servers in an enterprise environment.

Now if VMware would stop the stupid 2tb limit on increasing storage for powered on servers, my life would be even awesomer ;-)

Linux is a good platform but weRe still a prodominately Micro$oft world.

We run a lot of Unix based servers, those I have to worry the least about.

Keep in mind (don’t know if that changed or not). If you expand to the full 1TB then want to reduce it to create a separate volume, you can’t reduce it below 50% of what it is even if you have the free space. So if you expand to the full 1TB, you could only shrink it at a later date to 512GB.

So I take it you have the full 1TB available now.

Don’t know about being a geek. I’m good at computers so it makes sense I made a career path out of it. I’m also good at a ton of other non geeky things that don’t pay as well.....

Geek is a term of endearment for me.

Nerd is a slur.

Had to redo the Copy. Have the extra space now but the seek time is a lot slower.
