Let's talk about QB Robby Ashford out of Hoover. After I watched his 2018 highlights, here are my observations:
1. Sees/scans the field very well and picks secondary receivers
2. The play calling did not have a lot of designed QB option runs, rather he had the option to run if the receivers were covered. At least from the highlights it looks like passing first from the shotgun, take off if covered offense
3. He's a good runner, probably not a 4.5/40 runner but fast enough
4. Needs a bit of cleanup on footwork but nothing major. Needs a bit of seasoning, 1-2 years before he can take over.

Now let's talk depth charts. Auburn has Bo Nix, Joey Gatewood and Cord Sandberg. He will not dethrone Bo Nix unless Bo Nix gets hurt. Georgia will have Fromm (maybe, if he wants to stay for all 4 years), Dwan Mathis and Beck. Ehhhh, Beck is a better fit than him for that system. I have not watched Mathis's film yet so I am not sure whether he can beat him. PSU will have only Sean Clifford as a RS Jr and Michael Johnson Jr as a RS Freshman by that time. They also have Micah Bowens in the 2020 class. We will have E. Jones, Jalen Jones and possibly another QB in the 2020 class.

What is it they say about "hope"? Gotta give you credit for beating this drum. If we're going to TRY to land two QBs might as well go after the one's ranked higher than the hometown kid.

Yeah, his father and he were lying to the staff all along. You know I don't wish anybody harm but if his 310# guard were to step on his ankle and break it or cause him to have the infamous high ankle sprain, I will not shed a tear. Like they say, karma is a bitch. Yes he has the right to go where ever he wants. What he does not have a right to do is lie to and use our staff.

This says more about the buffoons we have recruiting than anything else.

Lets go chace a prostyle QB to run our option and run off the hometown kid who is perfectly suited for our offense.

This is the Mickey Mouze shyt has to end. We are our own worst enemy at times

AR wanted to go through the recruiting process .
blah blah blah

Just a coincidence he decommitted the same day Pimple Face decommitted from Bama and we started chasing a prostyle the next John Brantley QB with every breath.

I blame the coaches for even putting any stock into this kid. He don't fit the system that Mullen wants to run so why go after him at all. It would be like him going after a fullback it's a waste of a scholarship. Hopefully they learn from this for next time they are doing the same thing. Unless it's the #1 player once in a lifetime type of player we should never go after a pro style Qb.

We're taking two QBs no matter what. If AR does not want to compete with another high rated QB then we do not want him.

You can always sign a Trash level QB as a walkon. That's good enough for fourth string.

Looks like we may be signing two of them.
