Might as well make NFL games already crippled by the replay system even worse by adding reviews for friggin pass interference. This is an outrageous knee-jerk reaction by the NFL that is going to backfire in epic fashion. PI can be called on every damn play.

Pass interference now reviewable by NFL officials

**** the Saints. I hope they never win another game.

Discuss.

Again, DB's could technically be called for PI on about 90% of pass plays. Asshat coaches that need late scores are just going to throw deep over and over and then throw the challenge flag if they don't get the PI call. On replay in slow motion, one little nothing grab would technically qualify as PI.

There are going to be some real BS consequences of this nonsense.

And think about the Hail Mary to end games: they will ALL be challenged for non-PI calls, because what would a coach have to lose?

Just another reason not to watch. EVERYTHING is geared towards generating points. All these rule changes over the past few years have done nothing to help defenses out. It's terrible what they are doing to the game.

Just wait until next years playoffs, the Saints are going to win the game to move to the Super Bowl, their DB's who are grabbers grabs a receiver on the 1 yard line. Doesn't get called, it's reviewed. 1st and Goal at the one. Saints fans are going to revolt and boycott the Super Bowl. Saying no flag was thrown so it shouldn't have been reviewed.

I'm disappointed they didn't include holding at the LOS.

Just wait -- all they need is a seminal moment in a big game to embarrass the league and overreact in a way that drives the product into the ground.

This whole replay "solution" buries the lede on this whole deal, which is how does every single official miss that call to begin with? How about not being so incredibly incompetent that something so drastic and potentially destructive to the game flow isn't thought to be necessary?

And playoff crews are supposed to be the best -- well, I would make sure to penalize the crew involved to make sure it doesn't happen again, not run around and use replay as a safety net for your catastrophic errors.

I'm really thankful that I was able to witness my Eagles actually winning a SB in my lifetime, because this is going to destroy the game to a point of being unwatchable. I have plenty of other things to consume 3(now4.5) hours of my Sunday.

Once again, an absolutely terrible broad-based rule change in response to one acute situation.

They still only get 2 challenges (3 if they win 1) won't really change all that much. Hopefully one of the unintended consequences is that they review the whole damn play and can call offsetting penalties if the WR if grabbing and pulling or whatever as well. That will put a nice halt to the craziness

That would be pretty funny if a coach asked for a review, and his WR ended up being called for an offensive PI penalty that wasn’t originally called. That might make coaches think twice before using a challenge.

Can they still not challenge in the last two minutes? Every Hail Mary will be reviewed now, and there are going to be a lot of teams that get the ball at the 1 yard line with no time left on the clock as a result. This rule is going to create 10 times the controversy in the first year alone than the Saint's non-call last year.

Classic overreaction to something that rarely ever happens. I guess the 30,000 households in the fishbowl called Nawlens that watched Swamp People instead of the Super Bowl sent the NFL folks into a panic.
