Sharks with lasers.
The last time that worked at convincing someone to be a part of the program...

"Lasers are on, you'll have to come to Florida to get your shark." The rest is history.

two simples changes.

1. As has been mentioned.....beer.....complete no brainer
2. get rid of the dumb rule that you have to show a student ID to use student tickets. That way all those students that can't be bothered to show up for games can sell to actual fans.

Greed and stupidity.

There were times when i sold or traded my tix to other students who had family coming in for the game or just alums who contacted law school student bar asking for tix. SSometimes we had papers or projects due and I just couldnt go to the game. Or needed the money so I watched on tv. (Someone paid me a bunch for Tinerc tix, and I was a starving student.)

This is just more Fooley greed, trying to milk every penny out of the alums.

At some point the crowd is going to have enough of his shyt and show up at his house w torches and pitchforks.

Best suggestion yet.

The UAA got so full of themselves during the Urban run that they couldn't see more than 1 day into the future. Seriously short-sighted.

I posted this in one of the season ticket threads; my sister has 3 tickets. I asked her to add a ticket and I'd pay for it even if I didn't use it (I live out of state). The UAA denied the request, said they couldn't find 4 seats together (and she has cheaper seats). So, we didn't add that extra ticket. This was around 2012 time frame. They contacted her a year or so later asking if she still wanted the extra seat....she laughed at them and said, "I can buy tickets on the street for $5! I'm not adding another $500+!"

The lack of foresight led to the "...we're not getting into an arms race." comment from Foley. It also led to 9 years of futility and the downfall of our football program. So much stupidity at the UAA.

So you think frat boys are willing to give up their drinking and carousing an hour earlier so that they can attend practice????? You must have been a lot of fun in college.

As you say I was not a lot of fun, but then frats showed up and the team basically stunk.

Perhaps I was not clear, it is not attending but rather participating. They might get to say call a play, be an assistant coach for some game, be creative.

The SEC has a rule against that beer sales idea. Who's stopping the SEC from selling beer to everyone?

Had no idea that dumb rule was in place until I read it here at some point. Wasn’t in place throughout the 90’s when I used to fly in for a game every year. Always bought student tickets then. Seems those seats sit empty now. Stupid.

Hell I thought the Swamp sold out and there were 92k every Saturday. According to most of you dingbats we are churning out sellouts. I’m all for it because baseball and basketball needs some new uniforms.
The only home game that sold out last season was LSU...Every other game had many, many empty seats...

You're giving Foley more credit than he deserves. He made that comment in 2014.

Yes, he made the comment after reporters (and fan noise) were asking, "Hey Jeremy, WTF? These other programs are leaving us in the dust...."

He LIVED that comment his whole career.

He is also famous for lying to coaches. He promised Billy that we would upgrade that shytty tent top and the rest of the facilities in the contract extension after the 2000 season. Those things finally got done after Billy quit.

So a thread to increase attendance now has devolved into whining about the past. I saw someone suggest donating some tickets to charity.

I also don't think we run the ball 80% of the time anymore either. Beer is probably not going to be something that can be sold in the stadium any time soon. How about some mixed drinks if you want something interesting.

I was thinking that some additional shade might be a good idea and if students are not filling up their side sell them to someone who would show up.
