Meanwhile FSU's progression on the O line

This particular guy, Jauan Wiliams, a former 4* from the DC area, was pretty awful last year too. He got benched for inconsistent play on what we all saw in their last game was a very bad o-line. Jimbo's last few classes seems to have had quite a few busts. It's really not fair to hold the roster issues against Willie, and he should be given a few years (I'm thinking four or five) to get his own guys.

This is exactly right. You cannot blame the current coaches for inheriting busts that simply can't perform. Even if the busts later end up in the NFL having successful careers after leaving WiLLLLLLLie, you just can't blame him (or any coach really) for the prior regime's poor recruitment of a team with one of the nation's most talented rosters. It's just good on paper and that's not his fault. I can list hundreds of 4 & 5 star busts. They are just getting an inordinate amount of them right now. Just unlucky is all.

Need some more JJ Watts and Antonio Browns in Tallahassee. If they keep searching for the right guys, his type of 3 Stars, to replace these entitled bums who were coddled by the prior regime, he'll turn it around in 5-6 years. Just wait, other teams will be afraid. Can you imagine a team of JJ Watts. I mean really, JJ Watts. JJ "Freakin" Watts. 2 or 3 Star at best out of HS. That's what I'm talking about. More JJ Watts.

Sincerely,

Coach Boom

Don’t forget... those other highly recruited players weren’t recruited for HIS system. Have to clear those guys out - they’re probably disrupting the locker room too - and recruit new guys that fit what he wants to do. Also, he has to have time to develop those guys - can’t expect most freshmen and sophomores to be major contributors. That’s just a symptom of a spoiled, unrealistic fan base.

That's pitiful, but I still can't get over our OL blocking eachother. Let me know when F$U gets down to that level of incompetence.
They’ve done it many a time.

The IAKOW nerd made a collage of all the times they’ve blocked each other.

The spiel going around among coaches is that when they published lots on spring practices, a particular curmudgeon on a particular sports board tore asunder all their good works such that it generated too much poor-mouthed mood. So, to protect the morale of the players, less is said.

Regardless of McWilliams, Franks hit his WR long & in stride. That's the first QB-requirement.

Tuesday practice update from 247 VIP Practice Notes: QB separation clear, Dean growing at 'star'

Highlights:

Franks, despite some ongoing coverage recognition issues, is clear number one QB. Perine clear number one RB.

Dean still struggling but learning and his ceiling is super high.

Steele too.

Diabate will be great when he puts on weight.

TEs will be a terror in this offense. Lots of new wrinkles going in the playbook.

OL still getting chewed out.

Exec Summary:

Franks is clearly the QB1.

Trash throwing ints, mostly to Dean.

Tedarrell Slaton swallowing QBs

Grimes lowered his shoulder and bulldozed Brad Stewart for td.

But Franks not perfect- twice Jonathan Greenard picked off Franks ealrier in spring . Reese dropped pick yesterday.

Trey Dean still adjusting to his new position, two ints and fighting through blocks in run support. sometimes struggling w knowing who to cover.

Lamical Perine is far and away the best pass-catcher.Malik Davis not so much.

Swain looks good on jet sweeps

Practicing triple-option shovel passes to the tight end

-- Tight end (or wide receiver) Kyle Pitts freakiest matchup nightmares on team.

Kemore Gamble alsoakong great catches.

offensive line earned an earful from offensive line coach John Hevesy, especially Delance and Buchanan. Delance is hobbling.

Backup C Kingsley Eguakun most likely EE to play, but occasional bad snaps

Edge rusher Mohamoud Diabate very active

Freshman cornerback Chris Steele repping first team, struggling often, but had a great int
