I agree with what you are saying, but my only point was that if you have an OL that is young and still figuring stuff out, you probably will have more success getting them more on the attack at the start than having them sit back and have to read how the DL/LBs are coming at you. I envision a lot of RPO where the P is screens behind the LOS to so the OL can get after it vs sit back for it.

Davis and Stiner definitely let up on a few plays intentionally, where I think they deliver hits in a game. ...

Per Will Sammons, Stiner and Taylor had abysmal catches against rates for safeties last year (shocking to everyone, I know).
I don't know about them pulling up on big hits. If Stiner had a big hit last year I sure don't remember it. Taylor is functional versus the run and making tackles.... though certainly not a big hitter. Stiner is just as bad vs the run as he is vs the pass. I really can't think of a strong point for him. Maybe disguising blitzes? He had a few big play blitzes but they were mostly running free not beating a blocker.

I still haven't see O&B game still. If those guys aren't significantly better than they were last year we're still going to have a mediocre-at-best defense. You cant be bad at both safety positions and be anything better than mediocre.

As for linebacker big Reese isn't great in coverage, he is slow, but at least he tries. I think whoever replaces Vosean is going to be much better in coverage, especially if it is Burney. Vosean was a blitz specialist who missed his hole more often than not in run support and was laughable in coverage, which was always baffling to me given that he was undersized and fast.

I don't think we'll have too much trouble with Miami, but I'm still scarred by the Muschamp and McElwain years of getting my hopes and confidence up about a particular game and then performing horribly. I remember going to the Miami game in 2013. One of the most pathetic and embarrassing games I've ever seen.

I enjoy watching these guys for a few minutes only because they are such a train wreck on camera. It is hysterical. Dooley did add a meaningful comment. Shocking, I know. Here are the highlights,

1. Dooley said Mullen told him that he feels he finally has the pieces to be able to call the game he wants to call. I find this huge as we all saw how restricted Mullen kept things last year in large part due to Franks.

2. Announced attendance 39k.

3. These 2 idiots don't remember the name of their podcast.

Looks like Robbie suffers from EHN - Eternally Hard Nipples. It is a special condition that affects many men and women, every day. Prayers out and up (pun intended) for RA.

Don't tune into the O&B game expecting to evaluate anything on defense. They barely played any.

That defense was coached to play about 50%.

EDIT: And I am fine with that. Spring game really isn't that big of a deal. You only really can take stuff away from it like ... Trask's interception was a horrible decision to throw ... everyone looked to be on the same sheet of music ... everyone looked happy and excited ... lots of support from previous players there. Other than that ... its just a mandatory fun day for the team and their families.

Was that last speed rush smackdown at MSU Stiner? If so, it was a pretty good hit as I recall.
