Does anyone pay attention to the NFL anymore?

I’ve completely given up on the NFL and there is a myriad of reasons beginning with the anthem protests and not limited to the less exciting play and corporate oversight ruining the game to the point of unwatchability. Other than keeping track of former gators I’ve freed my Sunday’s. If anyone has any other reasons or thoughts....discuss.

I probably would if Winston wasn't the Bucs QB. I watched more NFL over the last 5-6 years because I couldn't stand watching football on Saturdays for some reason, but last year I watched less on Sundays and more on Saturdays. Really hoping that trend continues :D

I haven’t watched the NFL consistently in probably about 15 years. Although I do watch the playoffs and Super Bowl pretty much every year.

I’m in the minority though. Their viewership has expanded.

If I was to take a guess, I would think that the majority of NFL watchers would be lower and middle class, with either no or minimal college education. And I would think college football would be mainly college educated, middle class as well as people who live in the college town.

Have you ever watched an NFL game and looked at the crowd? About 3/4 of them are in NFL jerseys.

I have never really watched the NFL until the last 4 or 5 years. The main reason I started watching is solely because of Fantasy Football. I think almost any NFL game is more entertaining than the average college game but to me college still beats the pros when it comes to my enjoyment watching the Gators and other rivalry games for other schools.

That said, I love any NFL game where the Pats get spanked. I'm hoping to see several more of those in the not too distant future.

The players in the NFL are definitely a lot more skilled. But I think college football is a lot funner to watch.

I’ll tell you this – while the skill level for the NFL is definitely better than college, at no sport is it more transparent than basketball. The NBA players make college basketball players look like middle schoolers.

I stopped watching the NFL a few years ago due to the protests but my interest had been waning for years for the same reasons I stopped watching the NBA. Pro sports are so generic and bland now that it is almost unwatchable. You could watch most NFL games in black and white and not recognize any particular team. Same offense same defense same uniforms same strategy same approach. I watch the Super Bowl only and I don’t miss the NFL at all

I don't watch much NFL games due to a variety of issues. The protests and the Dolphins sucking are only two of them.

I watched some playoff games in Hockey and BBall and enjoyed them. The level of play was astounding, especially Hockey.

I was a Pats fan until about 3 years ago when I lost interest but my Sunday’s are for fishing and family now...it’s actually liberating

I don't know. What I do know is that "I" don't pay attention to the NFL anymore.

NHL is my favor season all year. As a Bolts fan, this year was great right up until the 2nd period of game 1 of playoffs. But even with the Bolts sucking in the playoffs inversely proportional to how great they were during the regular season, I will still thoroughly enjoy watching the playoffs and Stanley Cup more than I do when watching all the other sports season unfold. Even college football. NHL is awesome.

I used to watch the thanksgiving day games every year...and I would follow a few pro teams. Watched while Tim was QB. But once the protests started and the feckless owners refused to put a stop to it, I decided I had better things to do. Unfortunately Brian France has crapped in NASCAR's bed and made it almost unwatchable so my Sunday's are mostly free now. I generally spend that time in the woods whenever I can.

The only reason I watch the NFL nowadays is a good buddy is eaten up w/ the Pats, so I'll watch a few games w/ him. Otherwise, no interest at all. As a kid I loved the NFL, lost most interest while in college. There is nothing more exciting than two heavyweight college teams going at it!

I do like hearing about former Gators doing well. Anytime I do watch the NFL I always catch myself saying, "Oh, he played at LSU and was a badass..." or "He played at FSU and I hated him!"

I was a Cowboys fan in the 70's. I watched with less and less interest in the 80's and 90's. I tried to adopt the Dolphins and the Jags but it didn't take. So I settled on the Bucs. But I gave up in 2002 because they were so bad. Then they won the Super Bowl but I had checked out by then. Lost interest. Don't like watching the games compared to college. It's mechanical and unemotional. When the politics started that was the final nail.

August 8, 2006 is when it all started going downhill. 2013 is when it began to take a nosedive. First date is when Goodell took over, second date is when the original targeting rule took effect. After that, all rules have favored one side of the ball and now I don't care to watch.

Fantasy football has been the only thing keeping the NFL’s viewership in the black. Many (if not most) long time viewers have given up on it with the political BS and rules to pussify the sport.

I'm in the DC area and I was blown away the first time I went to a sports bar on an NFL Sunday. The places are PACKED w/ NFL fans, 75% (or more) wearing a jersey. Now that I've been up here for over a decade I understand the interest because there's so many teams within a 3-6 hour drive of each other (DC, Baltimore, Philly, Pittsburgh, NY teams, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Buffalo, Detroit...then a little farther is Chicago, Green Bay, Nashville, etc). The Northeast is to the NFL what the Southeast is to college football. They are EATEN UP with it!
