Matt Corral and Emory Jones were in the class of 2018. Jalon Jones was in the 2019 class. So there was no Corral for Jalon Jones swap and in fairness to Emory Jones you guys should quit confusing Emory Jones with Jalon Jones.

I get that and understood his initial post to mean that we were ditching a bad character guy in 2018 when we were willing to take one in '19. I don't think he was implying what you think or is confused on the respective players. Maybe I'm wrong.

This Steele deal has a rotten smell to it. The Blackmon headline that Steele's decision took courage is in my opinion horse crap.

Transferring out of a school that you committed to because you got an a hole for a roommate is quitting not courageous. To be fair we don't know how far he took his complaint. However it sounds to me that Steele got home sick , and the Jones issue scared him. Mom and Dad got involved and said come home. I would have to assume that Mom or Dad spoke to Mullen before the transfer decision came down. If not then there were other issues involved. If they did voice their concerns to Mullen and he did not respond then that is another problem.
This just sounds like an issue that should have been worked out. There has to be more to the transfer request than Jones.

One step forward, two steps back should be our motto at UF now.

Or perhaps "We're the Next Vandy!"

Chris Steele’s decision to leave Florida took courage, and is a colossal disaster for the Gators

If you can’t recruit at an elite level, you’ll never consistently compete for national championships, no matter how well you develop players. We don’t need to theorize this; it’s been proven, meticulously, in column after colum

I think he got homesick, and had his overbearing family ragging on him every day about being so far away, and he used this situation to get out of UF.

Sure. I wanted to get on the record in this thread that Emory Jones who is still at UF is not Jalon Jones and remind everyone reading this thread of that fact.

@RyanYoungRivals: Chris Steele’s father on the situation at Florida and his decision to enter the transfer portal.

Can't say I blame them TBH.

I read this as confirmation of the speculation above by me and Ox and others that Steele may just be using this situation as a rationale for moving back home like he wanted to do anyway.

Please remember that it was only a couple of weeks ago that some "high minded" scum supporters vandalized a Gainesville landmark with the not particularly clever slogan "Gators Suck." So forgive me if I'm not overly impressed with your protests of innocence. Also, though we're going through a rough patch at the moment, I wouldn't be counting any victories over a downtrodden Gators team before they hatch. Actually, I expect that you're enjoying our current problems more than you're likely to enjoy the outcome of the season opener. Get back to us after that game and tell us some more about your good wishes for our FB program,

lizard, I understand your anger over the vandalized sign. To me that was a childish, juvenile-type thing to do. Amazing after a few beers you can become an artist. Then again, my car was egged at a game in Gainesville as I have a U tag. There are crazies on both sides. Make no mistake about it, I am not counting on an automatic victory even if you lose a few players. Good grief why would I when our O line is high school quality and QB unknown, all new coaches, new plays, etc. I would much prefer to play this game the end of the season vs. 1st game. Your O line is not great either, but I think is perhaps better than ours at this point. and you have a proven QB. No, I am not enjoying your current problem (whatever that is) as I much prefer both teams at full strength.
