We don't know if he capitalized on an event to appease his homesickness or if he's an unusually principled kid for his age.

Our coach did fly across the country to apologize. That has to count for something. How can he know if the next coach will be as sincere?

It makes no sense to trash the guy. We only know the police report, reports of the room switch request, Steele in the portal, and Mullen making the trip to talk to the Steele family. Nothing in those items makes me want to trash anyone. It is perfectly reasonable for the family to take action, given everything at stake for their son, especially given the distance. I hope he comes back because he seemed to be ready to contribute, which is amazing for someone so green, seemed to be hardest on himself when he wasn't up to his own expectations (per Will Sammon reports) in spring practices, and he stuck his neck out to come all the way to Florida to play for a program that has seen better days than the last 10 years.

All good reasons to give the kid a break, I believe. Of course, I don't post anywhere else except here, so maybe I don't get where they are coming from.
