Been several times--have to echo the prior comments that the stadium itself is far away from the campus/bar districts, so not a ton to do unless you have a group tailgating.
Stadium is ok..just a bit unremarkable overall. The last 2 times I went, my younger cousin was at coed there and she showed us around. 2nd trip, we ended up tailgating at the frat lot and there was an appreciable amount of Gator fans from frats and sororities there.
As far as going out...depends on what you're looking for. 5 points is where the college crowd goes out at and has tons of good bars in a walkable district. If you're slightly older and want more of a relaxed pace to the evening, downtown has an area called the Vista with a local brewery, World of Beer, and some nicer restaurants/bars with less students and more of the locals.
Have to say: South Carolina is one of the most enjoyable road games I've ever been to, so you're picking a pretty "safe" road trip to start with. The fans are always friendly, win or lose, and aren't obnoxious--never had any problems in the 4 times I've been. Historically, it's usually over Veteran's day weekend/the Marine Corps Birthday, so usually wear a Marine hat and the locals aren't shy about offering drinks on that basis alone. Even ran into a former Intel colleague of mine the last time we played there, so that was kinda funny timing.
