He doesn't even rank on 247's composite.

:bwahaha:

Yeah, it's a pretty bad offer. Hopefully it's just a plan B and we get 4 or 5 of who we want (we have 2 committed, need another blue-chip DT/SDE....after that we could take a few Plan B's/bodies and see if they can develop - of course, getting a 4th/5th blue-chipper would be preferred, but 3 in one class would be great).

Yep. We've back ourselves into a corner, so hopefully they don't F around and whiff again. At least there seems to be a half dozen or so recent Plan B's (last year there was one or two and they passed - or allowed them to commit elsewhere). The issue is taking these kids before the early signing period because roughly 70+% of the kids sign early to secure a spot. Then the remaining kids are either studs who can go wherever they want or they suddenly become high demand (no matter how low their rating) due to the lack of available unsigned kids. Getting 90% of the class signed in December should be the goal, including your Plan B's.

We need to haul in a big bunch of DT/SDE types the way we did last year on OL. Take as many competent to elite players as is feasible/possible relative to other positions on the team. Anything less of an approach is dangerous in the way crap OL recruitment became a couple years ago.

247 just updated today....and there's some interesting moves:

2020 Top Football Recruits in Florida

Richardson is now a 3-star and dropped to #72 in Florida (meanwhile, FSU commit Jeff Sims moved up to #42 in Florida and is a 4-star).

UGA commit Jalen Carter is now the #1 recruit in Florida, moving ahead of Bowman - interestingly, both are 4-stars....so there are no 5-stars from the state of Florida?

Miles Brooks from Trinity (Jax) fell to #65 (Ga Tech commit).

Morven Joseph fell (#75 overall, 3-star).
Brooks isn’t very good. At all. I also don’t think Morven lasts in the class for much longer. He played poorly during camps recently.

Jalen Carter is a stud but man the moment he committed to Georgia he shot up the charts. Chad Simmons at work just like Dot used to do on Rivals.

This kid is reporting a UF offer. A very, very low ranked 3-star SDE. He's from south Florida, so he's the equivalent of a high 4-star California kid! Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Louisville seem to be the primary contenders:

Choute Kervins, 6'4 250lbs, Deerfield Beach HS:

Kervins Choute, 2020 Strongside defensive end - Rivals.com
Watch out for Deerfield Beach. They have some decent D1 prospects. Cardinal Gibbons also. Deerfield Beach opens up with couple of out of state opponents, ST John's of Washington DC and Zachary, LA.

yeah there's some of that going on for sure, but there's still no excuse for us being locked out of the top FLA kids too.
