The bytch is juggling the timing of your need with the release date of the phone you really want.
I've been using an LG G7 Thinq for almost a year. It should be up for a revamp about now. Very good phone that does most everything well without all the bloatware.

My last LG tried to use bloatware LG specific apps to handle texts contacts and numerous other things. This means you will basically lose everything if you switch to another phone later or will have a hassle exporting it.

I like the pixels, had an original pixel never felt it's age... now have pixel 3... they get the OS updates straight from google, and lack the bloat ware.

Never use a proprietary cellphone contact app for contacts. Use Google. Wherever you go, they go.

I know that but not everyone is so savvy.
However sometimes like if you are looking at the call log and hit the contact button, it gets sent to the propriety app. LG even makes their contact app blue.
Samsung was bad about the same thing but their apps are green i i ththk so it is easier to see.
