Yep. Football is just way more “toxic masculinity” than these snowflakes are interested in dealing with.

Brainwashing kids to celebrate trannies and embrace the loss of national identity in favor of the new socialist utopia is much more important. Trust me.

UF very badly wants into the club alongside progressive loony bins like the schools in CA and NC. The degradation of our football program is a price they are more than willing to pay. Hence, the foot dragging on anything that might stimulate it once again, like facilities, filling out and expanding staff, scouting resources, etc.

If the offensive line comes together 2019 might surprise us, but things could tail off after that.

Can you at least TRY to keep the politics off the sports board...please?

The problem with the UAA was that under Foley they would contribute money ($8-10M) to the academic side of the school instead of spending it to improve facilities. So now we have a crunch of outdated facilities that needed to be upgraded. The other major problem is that we no longer have the big, deep pocket alumni we used to have. We're having a hard time raising money for the standalone football facility. The third thing is that the University is indifferent to the football program. Their main emphasis is the research funds to the tune of $800M that flow to the university every year. Anything that interferes with that, like athletes embarrassing the university, Title IX cases, etc is frowned upon.

I think you’ve outlined the problem as far as the UAA and school are concerned pretty well here.

I can see missing on Bowman given our current RBs and letting Seider go, but damn a 4* OL from Live Oak who by all indications wanted to be a Gator....:wtf:???

Oh do you guys remember 2017 WR prospect Oliver Martin who we thought was a great loss when he committed to Michigan? He just transferred to Iowa having done basically nothing for the first two years.

The fact that it was his father and not him that announced it hints that maybe the kid wanted to be a Gator but his parents did not, just like Bowman!

Ok ... maybe I am being dense, but I am just not seeing what you are meaning. I was asking about a statement you made that says Stricklin and Mullen are shifting blame to other stuff. What does all the above have to do with asking about what Stricklin and Mullen are shifting blame to? And what are they shifting blame for? I dont nevessarily disagree with the other stuff you are saying ... I just don't understand what you are meaning when you say " but stricklin/Mullen seem to want to be shifting the blame entirely to the other stuff.".

Parents want the best for their kids and if you are comparing the visible, material elements of what your son is going to get, well UGA wins. Coaching is an intangible that Dan and Hevesy do seem to provide, but everything Braun’s parents could take a look at with facilities and the keystone cops nature of our recruiting staff gives the dawgs a real advantage. Everyone knows what should be done to close the gap, but as has been noted, no one is pushing for it.

Enlighten us on your closing the gap ideas.

Yeah I get the opposite vibe. They arent aware there is a problem.

And that is what I am getting at ... but if there are statements made (could there be any other way?) by Mullen and Stricklin blaming recruiting woes on 'other stuff' (even facilities), I have yet to hear it. I haven't heard any blaming at all from them two.

EDIT: And let me also add, I don't want them publicly blaming anything!! Announcing we are having problems would be a bad move in any sort of way.

Hire more support staff for scouting/recruiting for one. I think someone on the board showed the huge disparity in numbers Mullen is working against relative to the size and scope of Bama’s and UGA’s support staffs. And install some sort of direction and oversight for said hires. Hearing that people say “we’re not exactly sure what they’re doing” about the little recruiting staff we do have and hearing players say they don’t hear from UF much is unacceptable. Organize things Dan!

Get better recruiters on the coaching staff. More Robinsons and Grays.

And upgrade the facilities. It’s all been said before.
