Oh, there's a ton and it starts with their moderators. That's how they want it. You'd think we just had a hiccup the last couple of years, Dan Mullen is on par w/ Saban, there's nothing wrong w/ our facilities, Foley walks on water, and we're just a player or two away from competing with Alabama and Clemson.
We’re not? :sadnanner:

Easily THE CRITICAL recruit in this class. I hope he can encourage three big butted friends to join him... and a couple of inside backers too.

There is a very good recruiting status write up in the Athletic - Where Florida stands in 2020 recruiting and what it needs to...

Most of it is what many here are already observing, on both the pumper and dumper side, but it is also an example of a journalist noting the problems in real time, rather than playing the Abolverdi/Dooley "nothing to see here, you are all paranoid, unrealistic Gidiots."

A couple highlights/lowlights:

"The number is somewhat influenced by the existence of IMG Academy, but a whopping 60 percent of the top-25 prospects over the past three cycles in Florida have signed with an out-of-state school."

"The 2020 cycle is looking similar. Miami has the most top-25 players in the state committed with four, followed by Georgia (2), Clemson (2), Florida (2), Florida State (2), Alabama (1), Penn State (1), Oregon (1) and South Carolina (1). Nine prospects remain uncommitted."

"Florida can’t have elite talent from pipeline schools or locations nearby choose to commit elsewhere and expect to close the gap between the Gators and the country’s best teams — especially when it is coming off a successful season."

"Though the impact facilities have on recruiting is debatable, it’s fair to say and it’s worth mentioning that Florida is well behind its peers as it anticipates construction on a new football facility to start in June 2020. Off-field staff infrastructure is another factor, especially when the on-field staff is collectively known more for its coaching ability than recruiting prowess. Assistant director of player personnel staffers Jamar Chaney, Charlie Skalaski and Keiwan Ratliff are notable additions but they are still relatively new in their roles. Florida must overcome turnover, with former assistant director of player personnel Otis Yelverton and former director of player personnel Chuck Cantor no longer with the program, while continuing to beef up its off-the-field staff."

For those more positive mindsetters:

"Mullen and the Gators proved they can close last cycle and will likely be in a position where they must do it again. Florida landed seven of its 10 highest-rated commits for the 2019 cycle after the regular season." (Caveat, we have since lost 3 of those top rated 7 that came after the regular season)
Article was clearly cribbed from posters on this site.

DT Jalen Lee, from Louisiana, just committed to LSU. He's their 5th DT. FIVE! Unbelievable. Plus they have two SDE's. It's their third DT commit in the last week.

he does when you're attempting to lock down arguably the best D coord in the country for another 4-5 years...

Sure, but his dad should have been fine with him going to Elon, Davidson, or any number of 1AA schools where he'd actually get to play. He's a 5'9 un-ranked safety on a team full of 5-stars.

Five? Well need four real DL on the field except on thurd and long. And their run defense won't suck.

By the way I was told he was leaning our way just a couple days ago, and he likes the family atmosphere or something like that.

yeah but their run defense won't suck.

No sh*t! Three of the DT's are pretty low ranked (350 to 600 range). I'd have no problem with that, similar to what we did on the OL last year (taking 7). If they don't pan out they'll likely wash out on their own, but at least you have the bodies to develop. We need at least 4 heavy DL's in this class (and I'd like to see 5). Alabama did the same thing last year (they took 5 DT/SDE's), but they were ranked higher than these LSU commits.

Additionally, LSU signed 2 DT's in the 2019 class, plus a SDE and had a transfer DT from Texas - so, with these two classes they'll have added 8 DT's and 3 SDE's. In TWO classes!

I have no problem "losing" out on Lee, he lives 20 minutes from LSU's campus. I do have a problem with wasting time and resources on a kid we have a 10% chance of signing when we could be recruiting Florida kids. And like I said in the previous post, we should add a couple of lower ranked kids as flyers (unless we get Tim Smith or a surprise/unexpected commit). We need to bodies and need to hope one or two develop...if they don't they can transfer out.

Still waiting for five star Roy too. Guaranteed they called Lee up this morning and said it’s now or never and so he jumped. Someone in that class is getting processed though

I’d prefer to be in on 15 4 star defensive tackles and land 3-4 of them. It’s the lack of a board for running back and safety that really irks me. At least it’s clear Turner has a huge list of guys he wants. If we get Goods, who is ranked a spot ahead of Lee, then it’s all good (no pun intended)

im sure his dad would be alright with that, but im also sure yabbo dabo wants to guarantee a guy that is probably getting interest from every powerhouse program in the nation with a need, chooses to stay at clemson long term. Again, im not saying the kid deserves the schollie, but its a damn smart biz move from a HC's perspective if giving his kid a schollie locks him up, which we all know is the reason/result. It's not as if Clemson can't spare a schollie, they are effin loaded at every spot.

Agree Slevin, obviously the higher ranked the better. But I'm fine w/ some higher ranked 3-star kids along the DL.

The RB and Safety recruiting, two years in a row, is absolutely pathetic. Both of those guys need to be cut loose (Knox and English). I'm not happy w/ Tafoali, but I suppose it's better than whiffing. Still can't believe we lost out on Bowman.

I can't argue with that. Plus the kid likely has a coaching job lined up the second he graduates - and playing on that team will go a long way towards his coaching career (vs. playing at an Elon type school). Still can't believe they're going to give up a scholly though. They also had a very low ranked kid that they offered a Grayshirt to who is actually getting the scholarship right away (due to a transfer of another kid) - he's an OL that had offers to Appalachian State, Troy, ECU and other similar schools.
