Not as boring as losing to Kentucky and Mizzu at home. That really happened last year and it will keep happening unless something changes. Don't shoot the messengers. BTW, I was the world's biggest pumper in the summer of 2009. What a difference a decade makes.

Only dumdums use examples of how wrong they were in the past to strengthen their position in the present.

Part of the missing element in this and most discussions here is a lack of understanding that you can recruit your way into the top 20 or maybe even top 10, but you have to coach or maybe PR you way into the top 5 and maybe even have a bit of good luck.

Even if you can get any player you want you have to get lucky or be more insightful than anyone else in picking the best of the top 5 QBs or best of top 5 RBs etc. in a class. Really you need to be lucky to have the best of the 15 or 20 top five RBs from or the best of the 15 or 20 top five QBs from the last

Ogre begs to differ. Though I get your point.

Mullen can’t recruit himself out of this. He has to win. Win big. And change perception. It’s a great time to do it. FSU is down. IMG is down. And Bama is no longer taking all the elite prospects.

I've often been called a "pumper," and even referred to as the new JHbyrd by one of our members, primarily -because of my insistence that it's still too early to give up on the new regime, along with my smart ass sense of humor. And I do admit to being a "glass half full" kind of a guy. But like some others, I'm becoming increasingly disconcerted by the apparent lack of a sense of urgency on the part of DM, and perhaps more importantly the administration, in solving the underlying problems that have resulted in our continuing, lack-luster recruiting. I've tried to take a long-range view of the situation and thereby maintain hope that there would be a "sea change" among the powers that be, regarding the undeniable deficiencies in our current approach to recruiting. Unfortunately, at this point at least, that does not appear to be happening.

Admittedly, I've poked some fun at some of our posters for what seemed to me to be near hysteria-level criticism of the current HC, and staff. But clearly, there is an ongoing problem, or more aptly, a series of problems, that must be addressed if UF FB is to regain national prominence. Hence, I'm going to refrain from passing any further judgements on some of our "more negative" posters, because to an extent, I've come to agree with at least some of their concerns. Events that will take place this season, both on the field and within the councils of power, will probably determine the long-term success or failure of the current HC - and possibly even the program itself. On a side note, I do not condone cheating in any form. Taking shortcuts is not the answer, deep, systemic change is.

It is rumored that Joel Williams is now going to commit to Bama which means they probably push out Jahquez Robinson who then commits to us. Joel Williams is UOV Alabama this weekend.

Quality leftover?

Are we a AAA minor league team or a AA?

Who has given up on the regime? Name names.

I'm pissed that we are handcuffing Mullinz and making his weakness (mediocre recruiting) so much worse.

Read the dang posts. Half the posts are saying not that CDM is a failure, but that the entire UF FB is gone forever. As I have said before, you guys have made a solid case that CDM is a failure at recruiting. Of course, there was no need to make that case since anyone paying attention could see that CDM wasn't a recruiter when he came here. What is over the top and darn near hysterical is the claim that the program is doomed for ever.

Not failure, just below average. I wish we'd give him help.

The program has zero interest in competing for championships. That is clear.

And frankly, everyone knows. We won't be landing the next SOS or CUM any time soon. An elite coach be a fool to come here and try to fight with his hands cuffed.

My other school is cusa. Over the years I have seen strange sights--defeat of Archie Manning and Ole Miss, an ass whipping of the clowns (30+-0 at the half), Bama beaten, a QB signed only because he could play LB utterly transform a team, etc. UF has far greater resources and far better opportunities. Things are tough right now, but keep the faith. If we kick UGA and the clowns next year, things could look very different.

I'm absolutely not referring to you, and I didn't post that for the purpose of starting a fresh ****t storm. Frankly, I actually agree with your "lack of support and not a great recruiter" assessment. And the failure to address those issues on the part of the UAA, plus the lingering influence of the so-called AD Emeritus, pisses me off as much as anyone. IMHO, DM must take the bull by the horns and replace English (and others?) with someone with a recruiting heart beat - ASAP. That, coupled with delivering the final Coup de Gras to the worst AD in the history of major CFB, would allow us to take some hope in the belief that a new leaf was in the process of being turned over. Right now, there's not much room for optimism. Stay tuned.

Xsavier Henderson is on campus right now. He has withstood the Clemson onslaught so we have a chance.

Who said anything about being wrong? Was simply pointing out the stark difference between where we were in the summer of 2009 vs. the summer of 2019. It wasn’t wrong to be excited about the football program then and it’s not wrong to be concerned about it now. Sure hope we figure it out soon.
