Found it on FB from Melvin Flournoy.
Today is a very sad day for me and my Gator teammates.
My good friend Michael Stanfield number 77 from Pensacola Florida, Passed away from Heart and Kidney complications.
I am beside myself, Mike played offensive guard for the Florida Gators in the early 70s and was one of the first group of black players at Florida.
Pop will be sorely missed.
Pop, we had some great times together,
You will be missed and I love you man.
May you rest in peace, my friend.
Was said to be UF's first black off, lineman.

RIP, Gator.

On a side note, he probably stood alone as an OL majoring in interior decorating.

OT 6'1'' 244 lbs, man times have changed.

That was my first thought as well!

The 1984 OL "The Great Wall" averaged around 280lbs and Phil Bromley weighed around 250lbs at Center. I would bet Jacksonville University's non-scholarship team's OL averaged over 280 per man.

Dickey's wishbone put a premium on mobility.

Pro linemen were often 240-250 then.

Better life thru chemistry.

In the mid to late 60s our nose tackle lived near us in Corry Village. He either weighed either just over or just under 200#.

Hey - I lived in Corry Village in the late 60’s.
You probably remember me- I was the little fat kid with the crewcut.
