So looking a Rivals, Graham is rated 5.7 and Wingo is 5.8. Makes one a high 3 star and the other a low 4 star. Seems everyone is ecstatic with Wingo but disappointed with Graham. Is there really that much difference between them?

With all due respect if your friends weren't complete fcking retards they wouldn't be SC fans. So maybe we shouldn't trust their opinions.

They are alums and live in Columbia...one of them designed the roof on the new Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.

Yes. One is at a position of great need.

The other is I don't know what exactly.

Wingo is also very much a leader. Kids will come just because of him.

We have one position that we use drastically different than 99% of the teams.
How about LBs and WDEs? If we only differ from 80 per cent of the teams we have to go with the star rating? (I mean, unless we posters think someone is better than their ratings.)
Donk, does your inconsistency in the application of rules stem from your experience in the courtroom?

No, our pass rushers and olbs are the same skillset as every other team.

Our QB being expected to be at least the second leading rusher and hopefully our short yardage fullback is the only major difference in our offense.

Now, we do wierd things, like run a passing nickel defense against running teams in obviously running downs, and play WDEs at all three DL positions at times, but their isnt anything out of the ordinary with the skillset of our players.

I have never expected you to understand the slightest thing about Xs and Os. Just admit it and move on.

Youre my favorite Buttersluvin curmudgeon otherwise.

Bell, Richardson, and Torrence should all be consensus 4 stars before it’s all said and done.

Or possibly Goods will be a consensus 3 star before long. That is what happened with Kimbrough last season. He committed to UF as a 4 star and very shortly afterwards someone reranked and he fell to a 3 star where he remained. As someone else said, a high 3 star or low 4 star are about the same ranking.

4-Star DT M’Ba has ties and interest in Gators

The Gators have gone international before with football prospects, one of the most notable was Canadian born quarterback Jessie Palmer. The Gators just got a commitment from Canadian native and defensive tackle Lamar Goods who lives and plays football in Connecticut. But, my memory doesn’t recall a player from France via the Congo. That is what we’re talking about in Oakdale (CT) St. Thomas More four-star defensive tackle Jeffrey M'Ba.

If the school sounds familiar, it’s because M’Ba (6-6, 315) played next to Goods last season on the same team. He was expected to graduate and be eligible to enroll in college this coming football season, but some of his classes didn’t transfer and he will head back to France for most of the fall and work on getting eligible.

But the dude is a football player, and a good one.

And although he hasn’t been in the states very long, he says that the University of Florida wasn’t a secret to him before he moved to Connecticut.

“Florida is a great school,” M’Ba said. “Everybody knows Florida in France.”
M’Ba says his interest in Florida is big and he knows a few of the recruits that are already on board like defensive tackle Gervon Dexter, Goods and another recent commitment in offensive lineman Gerald Mincey.

“The Florida Dline is very good like they play very fast and they’re like a dog ,and I know the class of 2020 has Gervon Dexter and my man Lamar Goods and they’re very good players,” he said. “(Goods) that’s my man I love him I played with him this year at St. Thomas More he is very good.

“We have (spoken) together on social media,” he said of Mincey. “He’s a nice dude you know he told me a lot of things about Florida

With the dead period upon us, M’Ba won’t have a chance to visit Gainesville until the fall, he says that is what he intends on doing. He says everything he has heard about Florida is a positive.

“They’re good and all look nice, I just want to see (all of that now in) real life and see the coaching staff,” he said. “I talk with Coach Hevesy I have seen him a couple times and he is a great man, so I just want to see the rest of the coaching staff.”

“I need to see what is happen there and why a lot of guy flip their commitment for this school,” he said.

Just to add to this point, the drop off in how often talent gets drafted to the NFL is quite significant once you go below the top 50. In fact the chances of say players ranked 60-100 is barely at 20%, while those in the 286-300 is about ~12-13%. Stars definitely matter, but rankings from 90-300 don't really matter as much. I just think it probably does not matter as much if you dropped off to a very high 3 star or upgraded to a low 4 star.

We have Brown, Dexter, and Goods. If we add Jeffrey M'ba, how many more big butts do we need?

Brown is listed at 250. Can he play big end? The same question goes for Dexter who is listed at 276. He'll easily hit the 290 mark once Savage gets a hold of him. Can he play big end? He'll certainly be able to play DT.

At that point, are we just looking for big ends?
