Grew up in Georgia and most of my friends from back home are Georgia fans. There is not another group that is more insufferable. To hear them tell it they won the national title every year. They count kore second place finishes as accomplishments than Butters.

I gotta err on the side of caution and say you must not know many Miami fans

Not true. They are number 2 on my list for worst experiences when it comes to fans. Ohio St. fans are number on my board. But, terrible fans don’t make a team a rival. I hate the bucknut fans, but I don’t consider the team a rival.

I barely think about Georgia. Except some of the time when thinking about football.
F$U is in my face everyday, multiple times a day.

OSU and Michigan are tied with Miami imo

Uga almost feels like UT in a way. We beat them and we are supposed to beat them. Up until a few years ago we were on our way to evening up the series and we had beaten them like 16 out of 18 or something.
Nothing beats the feeling of beating FSU. I see way more ugly ass FSU gear here in Gainesville. I feel like a million dollars the next day after we beat FSU. I can say Go Gators to all of their trashy ass fans when I see them now again thank God.

Fsu. If you ve lived in Florida you'd understand.
I was born and reared in Florida; I have to disagree. I think it is demeaning to consider Florida State College for Women be considered a rival to the state's flagship university. The girls will always be the girls in heritage and attitude. Georgia simply engenders visceral hate on so many levels. And yes, I was in the Gator Bowl in 1968.

Seems to be cyclical depending on who's in our way for a title. How many times in the last 30 years have both FSU & UGA been in the top 10 at the end of the year? Age probably factors in with this as well. Older posters will pick UGA while the slightly youngers probably pick FSU.

**** EM BOTH!

Very generational. My grandfather was a Gator from the late 30's on. In his view, it was always uga, miami, auburn in that order. The vols were never a constant, and until 2001 never cost us anything of consequence. And he was in his late 60's before fsu became anything more than a little brother who we dominated. He did grow in his dislike for those two throughout the 90's, but they were never on par with the other 3, especially after Dooley led the charge in stripping us of our '84 SEC title.

So I've always taken a similar position. There is absolutely no better feeling than leaving Jax with a win. The cooling air as the sun sets, the smell of burnt tailgating food and the unique overall setting plays a part. But seeing their total db fans leave in defeat is priceless. And the opposite is true. Losses there hurt more than any other.

I put fsu two.

Beyond that, it's a 3a-c of tennessee, miami, and auburn.

My answer is, and will always be the dwags. It's not about tangible, practical considerations pertaining to recent events, or the simple desire to beat a potent rival or to gain some strategic advantage. I have lived in Tallahassee, Nashville and Atlanta in my lifetime, and have witnessed disgusting and idiotic behavior by all three fanbases that would qualify them for the privilege of being my "most hated." But there lingers in my heart a special detestation of the leg humpers that surpasses all others. It's like some preternatural Lovecraftian horror that lurks in the darkest recesses of my soul, waiting, anticipating, longing for the next opportunity to not only destroy the mange-infested curs, but to lay them waste, utterly and completely - with neither compunction nor mercy.

In the SEC our biggest rival is Georgia. In non-SEC rivalries we only have one and that is FSU. Miami could be a big rivalry if we played them every year and there was a time when Miami was a bigger rival than FSU.

Tennessee is a big rival now that we play them every year in the SEC East. Auburn used to be a good rivalry until the SEC split into divisions. Alabama is sort of becoming a rivalry and an overlooked rivalry. We've had some big games in the past and I think we might be seeing some SEC championship games with them in the future. Florida only borders two states, Alabama and Georgia. LSU since they are our permanent SEC West opponent has certainly become a big game.

South Carolina has become a pretty good rivalry in recent times. When Spurrier was coach up there in the Palmetto State the South Carolina game provoked a lot of interest among Gator fans. Now that Muschamp is coaching in Columbia the intensity of this game has only been elevated. The Gamecocks are also an SEC East opponent and are not too far up the road. This game will remain a rivalry only if Carolina remains a competitive program which I believe they will. FSU would be a rival even if they started sucking as bad as Vanderbilt year In and year out. Willie Taggert can drive that program into the ground and Gators everywhere will still cherish a win over FSU. Ray Graves used to call the FSU - Florida game the Civil War.

I remember when our season used to have the season ending murderer's row. We played Auburn and then Georgia. Miami was always the last game of the season. Those were three big rivals that we played at the end of the season. Then FSU was added to the mix. Sometimes the FSU game was played early the season. The it was moved to late in the season and Miami dropped off the schedule.

So my list of rivals:
(1) Florida State and Georgia (tie)
(3) Tennessee
(4) LSU
(5) South Carolina
(6) Auburn and Miami (tie)

If we played Miami every year they would go to Number 3 on my list or maybe even a three way tie with FSU and Georgia.

F UGA. If you picked anyone other than UGA you are probably younger.
Exactly. For the last 30 years we've freakin owned Georgia. It hasn't been much of a rivalry. Now fsu has gone back and forth and there's plenty of fsu fans around here to eff with.

And let me add to "F UGA. If you picked anyone other than UGA you are probably younger." If you picked anyone other than UGA you are probably younger and definitely wrong.

One thing that plays a big factor for me in the FSU/Uga rival argument is how dirty FSU is. Darnell Dockett knee twist and hand stomping, free shoes, "it's not like he killed the Pres.", "Grab her by the P." Thuggery and all the nasty **** the TPD lets them get away with up there. Uga doesn't compare in douchery.

I dont understand people adding LSU to the list. They are probably my second favorite SEC team. Id much rather see them win the west wc I know they wont be hard to beat any given year.

The votes will be overwhelmingly in favor of UGA. Naturally. We're in the same division.

Beating FSU gives me more satisfaction.
This. The Dwags are our biggest rival, because we have to go through them to get to the SECCG. But I hate FSU much, much more, and get a lot more satisfaction out of beating them. 52-20, 32-29, and all the others, baby!
