Interesting introduction video. This had to be cutting edge promotion at the time. That Albert at the start on the motorcycle....wow.

Definitely top notch -- Pat Summerall and what sounds like the NFL Films team producing the music and highlights. Great look at the campus, circa 1979. Wow.

Pell played for Bear Bryant on Bryant's first championship team at Alabama. His voice sounds almost just like Bryant's. He had the same kind of personality as Bryant.

I knew 3 of those Gator Getters in that video. Also, the girl at the 2:24 mark married one of my fraternity brothers. @FlyingGator, you know who it is.

Man that video would not fly today. Too sexist! “Plenty of scenery on campus too” “ over 9,000 coeds” wink wink.

I can not even imagine what a current day remake would look like.

That was more like a documentary, but it was fun watching. Times have changed. Still wearing the UF helmets in preseason. Laughed at Summerall describing Florida Field as "contemporary." Pell's head doesn't move when he talks. Just his lips.

Best line of all: it’s an hour to the gulf, an hour and a half to the Atlantic. Close to Disney, silver springs, and Ocala national Forrest.

But there’s plenty of activities on campus, like 9,000 co-Ed’s. (Video of hot chics shown).

Go to 7 minute mark.

I can count on one hand the number of students who drove the hour to the Gulf. For what, lunch?

Seeing the stadium in blue brings back some old memories for sure. Heck, most fans who think SOS started football at UF almost certainly has no idea the stadium was ever blue.

On a side note regarding Pell, I remember back in the mid-80's I was at a Woodham HS QB Club meeting(typically 40-50 people every week attended), when one early season meeting Pell and his wife walked in and sat down in the back. Turns out Charley had moved to the area and his son had enrolled at Woodham and was on the FB team. Charley became a regular at the meetings and everyone became friends with Charley and the Pell family. He was really a nice guy when you got know him--sure, he had 'fallen from grace' somewhat, but not being a HC at a major university and just a football parent freed him up to relax and be just a regular guy....and THAT is the Charley I remember more than just as HC at UF.

Shortly afterwards they moved across the bay to Gulf Breeze, FL and eventually Jax area (if I recall correctly) up until his death. Good guy--good family.

RIP Charley.
