I'm pretty sure he's using uga as the example since we're in the same division and play them annually without much success the last few years.

I think we are shooting for both, but yes - UGA is our divisional rival.

This isn't rocket science; if we can start recruiting the way UGA & Alabama are (or just get close) we'd be in the SEC title hunt every year (which puts us in the playoff).

We can focus on Georgia or Bama...but none of that will mean a damn thing until we manage to beat Missouri. Lets get things in perspective here.

The idea is not who we focus on winning against, clearly that would be Georgia first, the idea as I understand it is to have a program similar (in results) to one or another of those teams. I choose to aim as high as possible, that would be Bama. Also Georgia is also trying to be Bama.

Good discussion.

Target? "Best recruiting" is the bullseye we should shoot for.

The best athletes beat the better athletes.

Yes, we are chasing them. Yes, they recruit well. No, I don't want Kirby driving my racecar. He can deliver parts.

Baby steps Chief; baby steps.....

Well perhaps not baby ones, but it will take time. I always think if you don't aim high enough you are not doing what you should. There is no reason that over some years we should not have a program that can compete with Bama on every level and be superior in academics.

Poor recruiting must be overturned. Now Mullen, being the "actions speak louder than words" type person, would delay the embolden golden-talk until UF shows fun and superiority on the field. That makes again winning 10+ games crucial. This year.

IMO, Mullen needs to gather a superb crew with persuasive recruiting skills NOW! Stop letting the best state of Florida players slip through our hands, now! Specifically, UF must out-recruit UGA. Can't keep letting those brachycephallic snort-vermin pull in better athletes than UF.

Look at the big brain on Rog; I have never seen the word “brachycephalic” in these pages before. (In the interest of full disclosure I had to look it up.). Another first for GCMB!

GBM, there's an organized movement, started by veterinarian group in Britain pushing for the elimination of the Ugga-type breed of dogs. These dogs have such a myriad of health and pain problems that it's considered "cruel and unusual punishment" to continue to breed dogs with such characteristics. Some USA vets have joined the movement. Animal hybridizing should be to attain a superior breed. UGGA is bred for ugliness, health and comfort be damned.

I've met several people here in Ga. who being loyal Ugly fans get themselves an Uga type bulldog. They all, while actually pretty pleasant dogs as far as temperament goes, seem to develop health issues and die pretty young. I had no idea their skull shape was a scientific thing; I thought it came about from chasing parked cars.

Smartest thing that dog ever did was run like hell from Bevo. Who ever thought that putting a dog, who Bevo was unfamiliar with, anywhere in his general area ought to be given a severe beating.

Thinking back, I'm sure I saw even Alberta take a jab at UGGA. Naming a beast "mascot" does not transform it into a cuddly-poo. Bet that event shortened UGGA's life even more.
