He's among the most breathtakingly talented RB's I have ever seen. A guy with his size to have the quick feet he did and the breakaway speed was amazing. The most hideous part was that the Jaguars were hellbent on getting Curtis Enis in that draft, and had to "settle" for Taylor when the Bears threw their pick away on that fat bust.

Who played for 7 years in Jax. Fred played 11. Both were injury prone and missed about 20% of their games, but Fred’s career was long for a RB and Boselli’s short for an OT.

I agree with Fred but he should have let others make his case (and many would have.)

He’s 17th on the all time rushing list and 29th YPC. There are a handful of HoF RB’s below him on both lists, and a few others who didn’t make it above him. Those below him include OJ and Dickerson, and his stats are right there with both, which goes to show you how the era and small market franchise hurt him. Dickerson was LA, OJ was dominant in his time.

Above him, the only retired player is Edgerrin James and active are Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson. From that angle, he sure deserves more than a sniff.

Boselli was their first pick ever and was the top 3 player at his position the majority of his time with the Jags.

Oh sure. You can make a blanket statement like "being paid". But I think your're overlooking the federal, state and county taxes, agent fees and other ancillary costs he assumed as part of that salary.
