So apparently there were rumors on Twitter that Steele wants “back in” at Florida...(I don’t have a Twitter) but my question is what are yalls thoughts on this...do you take him back? ...or just say no thanks? I think it might just be rumors in the Twitter-sphere, but honestly do you demand a public apology? Was the twitter “beef” gonna ruin the locker room chemistry or was it just the guys stepping up for their coach? I’m really curious as to what y’all think...

I hope that it is not serious, but if it is I don't want him. He really does not want to be a Gator and you know the rest.

Charlie Daniels wrote a book and at the end gave some advice to aspiring musicians and especially those who run the show... and this is a very loose translation... “If any band member ever comes to you and says they’re trying to decide if they should quit, tell ‘em they’re done. If their heart isn’t 100% with the band, it’s best for everybody involved to have that member move on.”

I suppose there are times when that isn’t necessary, but I’m guessing that’s probably the best approach for the majority of the time.

The NCAA is so inconsistent with whom they make immediately eligible and who they do not, it's so rigged. If Steele was a linemen he would be out a year.

It also helps that he concocted the whole "I'm traumatized" story which became a national headline. The fact that his version of things is completely debunked by police reports apparently doesn't matter at all.

Meanwhile a kid whose name I forgot was denied clearance because his "sick aunt" reason for moving back close to home was not considered "immediate family".

As you said, it's a rigged system.

The sooner the better to find out what loser he is on the football field.

Bottom line UF coaching staff screwed this up. Mullen could have made the adjustments. You will see what a great player he is soon .

You watch a bunch of pac12 football?

I do agree we kinda screwed it up, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. Not really expecting to hear much about his greatness soon, but you might be right.

Unless Steel went to the coaches and said, hey, this dude is gonna end up getting charged with something... “I believe he’s gonna have sex with women while they’re saying no... he’s a piece of sh!t woman abuser...” (that kinda thing).... What the hell are the coaches supposed to do???

He’s a friggin freshman, highly recruited, thinks the world owes him. It’s part of the un-recruitment process! “Hey kid, sorry you don’t like your roommate. Sucks. We’ll see about changing rooms for you when this semester ends.” That’s the normal way to handle these situations. So unless he specifically raised concerns the Jones was a potential sexual abuser, I’m sorry. I don’t see how they “screwed it up”. Especially when the police reports don’t match his concocted story.

He used this situation to gain eligibility because he’d changed his mind.... again.....like he did how many times during recruiting.?.

Kid was a freaking high drama, indecisive freshman. Being treated like a freshman in the de-recruitment phase they ALL have to undergo. Im so sick of hearing how the coaches screwed up. Look, there’s plenty we can blame them for. Maybe even taking Jones himself, we can say, “we’ll maybe they should’ve known”. Idk. There is plenty to blame on them for other sh!t. This ain’t one of them. Everybody stop it. Just stop it. It’s ridiculous. Bunch a puzzies thinking we should hire fortune tellers instead of coaches... what? We should keep treating these freshman like they’re being recruited. That ain’t how it works. Period. Get over it.

I don't even necessarily disagree that he may turn out to be a solid player, especially in the P12.

But you do understand that literally every word out of his mouth was a lie regarding that whole Jones situation, right? Worse yet, his parents--coddling at its finest--also participated in creating a false image of his time here in Gville and continued a fictitious smear of UF once he decided he wanted to be closer to home, rather than just encouraging him to be a man and honor his decision or at a minimum to simply be honest. And this was just weeks after raving about Mullen and Co. on social media for the way they'd treated their son since his arrival. He then announced a transfer to Oregon, showed up on their campus, only to de-commit from them(4th time de-committing from a school in under a year, mind you) and decides to go to the school in his hometown, electing to announce with another complete headcase flake who pulled a similar stunt with Texas.

Play on the field is one thing. But really, this is the guy you're defending and/or blaming Mullen for losing?

I didn’t follow the story close enough to know who shares responsibility for the incident or the aftermath drama. Skill wise? He would’ve been an upgrade over McWilliams, so it’s still a loss to our CB depth.

Im not sure he would jump Elam and co though.......the team absolutely blasted him on twitter and posted videos of him getting manhandled. I also just noticed he was on Netflix's QB1 but never really featured for his team. I just randomly caught an announcer mentioning his name with a WR beating him. Not sure this was that big of a loss.

Well:

1. As others have said, this will allow us to see if he really is not ready right away.

2. The problem with this is that we know the details of the Steele situation while we do not know the details of the "sick aunt" situation.

3. When you have committees composed of different people for each appeal or each year you tend to get different and sometimes inconsistent decisions.

1. I haven't disputed that, and it is completely irrelevant.

2. Unless it turns out that the other player doesn't actually have an aunt, Steele's situation is no more valid than his. It was based entirely on a fabrication.

3. This isn't a matter of inconsistency. It's a ridiculous swing from one extreme to another as if there is no central principle involved.

Now you've done it. The retort coming your way is going to be catastrophic.
