Interesting that Mullen seems to have no trouble getting top notch transfers while struggling to recruit high schoolers. Is it maturity hitting those kids realizing that flashy facilities and new trucks don't matter much if promises are broken and you really wanted to get to the next level?

I mean surely Mullen's talk to those transfers can't be magically different than the high schoolers.

Also now , when a kid is a hard commit to somewhere else , it seems like a good idea to still bring him onto campus. There is that potential of getting him in a later cycle based on relationships they may have made.... so 2nd place on a kid could be a good thing

Yep, sooner or later Mullen needs to start winning the battles against UGA/Alabama/OSU/Clemson and the other big boys. He's done a great job w/ the transfers he's brought in (hell, Butters added a couple who are going to start this year in Delance & Campbell). Transfers doesn't seem to be the problem, and like GatorJ said - it's saved this 2019 team (five possible starters).

Maybe when the new facility breaks ground it'll get better w/ the HS kids? Maybe if we beat UGA this year? Maybe the perception of our program (from Butters and Muschamp) will fade? Regardless, taking transfers isn't the problem.

Are you talking about in December?

For next fall, I'd much prefer bluechip freshmen. Corner is the easiest position to play on the defense. Freshmen have no trouble doing it reasonably well.
Last minute - like before the fall semester starts

Zones arent hard for corners either.

Good luck finding some tape of Grantham running zone.

No one suggested such. Covers 2,3,4 are hard rules depending on what routes are run. To think anyone suggested a one coverage is running to a spot and standing there regardless of what the O is doing is stupid.

We dont have CBs running all over the field. Our safeties are primarily zone and the corners run a lot of zone, cover 3 a lot. To run strictly cover 0 man would require the best secondary in th history of football to be successful.
