Dang you beat me.
@ClowESPN: Redshirt freshman Jarren Williams, not Ohio State transfer Tate Martell, will be @CanesFootball's starting QB.

Wow, that's surprising. He was #3 going into camp. I really liked him during the recruiting process, he was committed to Kentucky for a while then his recruitment took off (he was offered by pretty much everybody). He has a ton of potential, but this will be his first start. Hopefully we make him look like a first time starter...

I would not be surprised to see the freshman. It’s a new offense to everyone, they already know Perry can be awful from last year, Martell - well, yeah, and the freshman looks the best by far on these QB highlight videos they posted.

VIDEO: QB Jarren Williams full highlights in practice 4

I’m shocked I tell ya, shocked.

Seriously, even though it was just 4-5 minute videos from the first week of practice, he looked much better in his 5 minutes than the others. The only eason he would not be the starter was being a freshman and as I noted then, the offense is new to all 3 of them, so might as well play the guy who looks best. Then I heard the scrimmage reports and thought it sounded even more like the freshman was it.

they will need all three. probably in the first game.

this was going to be a massacre regardless but putting a true freshman out there with the a defensive coordinator who's going to blitz on every play and often bring two blitzer's from anywhere on the field is about the worst imaginable beginning for a quarterback.

Deep down scum, despite the internet bravado from a handful of fans, know what's coming.

That pass to the TE for a TD in the scrimmage must have won the job for him I guess. Enos couldn't resist after that.

I'll say. Perhaps that he doen't have to do a jump pass to avoid throwing the ball into the defensive end's armpit was a factor, too.

Yeah it’s gonna be a “deer in the headlights” moment...just like what Franks went through in Arlington

Jarren Williams named the starting quarterback vs. Florida

Highlights:

5th rated pro-style in ‘17

Stats: In 2018, Williams played in one game—against FCS opponent Savannah State—and completed 1-of-3 attempts for 17 yards in action as a back-up.

Quote: “You can really never be wrong when you make the right reads with this offense. Coach Enos has a simple offense, but it’s very complex. It looks like a lot and the defense is like, ‘whoa.’ We’re bringing a lot to them, but really it’s simple to us. There’s answers everywhere. I’m just excited about this offense.”

Miami’s offense is looking to improve off of a 2018 season in which the Hurricanes had one of the worst passing attacks in the country amongst Power Five schools. UM averaged just 167 yards per game in 2018, which ranked 112th in the country. The Hurricanes also tossed 14 interceptions in 2018.

That sounds like the same lame ass explanations our players had under chump and butters. Talking about how hard the motions were for the defense...I’m not sure we tricked anyone except that 30 minutes against ole miss

Seems the fans think its funny.....Tate Martell lost the starting QB job at Miami and college football fans have jokes

"All three guys showed tremendous improvement and development, which is a credit to their hard work and the work of Dan Enos and his offensive staff. We believe we can win with all three guys, however, we feel like Jarren has the greatest upside due to his passing ability, his instincts and his determination," Diaz said about the move, via Miami's official website. "As we move into preparation for the Florida game we will continue the competition to determine who will serve as the backup quarterback."
