Hardly what I would call settled science.

It's settled science when you have personally felt the medicinal benefits. What anyone else claims is hardly relevant at that point. Now, I do agree smoking is probably not the most healthy means of delivery, but there's also no proof smoking cannabis causes cancer the way tobacco does, so until more studies are done, we simply don't know how harmful it may or may not be yet. I get sick as a dog if I try to take opiate pain medications. I mean violently nauseous. I avoid them at all costs unless the pain is so severe I'm nauseous already. I spent 2018 with a kidney stone over 1/4" in size and all the doctors assumed my pain was coming from my back because I have 3 herniated disks and a well documented sciatic nerve history. Because of that and the fact that I'd never had a kidney stone before in my life, nobody even thought to check for one. So I suffered almost an entire year before finally passing that kidney stone naturally. Pain was my middle name in 2018. I alternated over-the-counter Motrin and Aleve during the day, and then at night before bed I would smoke some cannabis because by nighttime, the pain was always at it's peak. Just being up out of bed and walking to the bathroom and kitchen for something to eat was enough to have the pain raging by nightfall. It's all I had to work with. No way would Motrin and Aleve have gotten me through that year alone. I probably would have blown my brains out without the cannabis. The pain was beyond anything I've ever experienced in my life at times. Science be dammed. Especially since the federal government makes it extremely difficult for anyone to study the "benefits" of cannabis. They'll give grants left and right to anyone willing to study the negatives though. You can be sure of that...

There is a very strong argument to be made for the case of how much certain strains of it help with recovery. Help with an athletes recovery (by speeding it up as well as enabling gains) and you essentially make their fitness trend upward. Even the kind you smoke. By the way, most medicinal is administered by breathing it in ... someone above made a point to counter that and that is wrong.

However, with that said ... I really don't think that was the intent of Cox or other college athlete.

His complaint is too easy. He’ll say it took too long, our admin almost screwed it up, he missed fall camp and won’t be eligible any way because our admin is too incompetent to get a waiver, etc.

No, me either, but for people to act like cannabis is the root of all evil in this day and age is ignorance at best.

I am happy to hear it is working for you and I am sorry to hear about the issues you've had. Just because it worked for you does not make it settled science; it is one more piece of evidence in the medicine column however. My point about smoking was not about any potential dangers; it was to highlight it as an inefficient method of delivery. BTW - I agree that it is overly difficult to do medical research on the benefits of marijuana.

I gave my dog CBD oil to help with his arthritis (was advertised that way). Worked pretty well for a week or two but he got used to it and it stopped working without increasing the amount.

My mom recently had her hip replaced. The pain was pretty bad, much worse than the knee replacement. Pain meds make her puking sick.

CBD oil works for her. Takes the pain away almost immediately.

Was this before or after he was trying to transfer? If before, it opens a an of worms. Basically, recruiting is never done.

I like the ncaa being so lenient with waivers. It means scum like Richt 2.0 can't lie to kids any more. They can do what Cox did and transfer right out to a rival and not sit out.
You can hear it all on Mullens Monday presser, it was after Cox entered the transfer portal.

I think it works better if you mix it with Cool Ranch Doritos.

People like you make your generation look bad. There are different ways and strains to smoke weed these days without even getting high and the medical benefits are irrefutable. Anyone who still thinks it should be illegal or harsh laws attached to it are barbaric knuckle draggers. End of story.
Thanks for gracing us with your genius again. Be like me or be stupid...classic

Absolutely right. Don’t agree with the rule/law? Protest, write a letter, start a campaign, whatever. But don’t jeopardize your team’s potential because you just want to. As many here have pointed out, pot’s not addictive so smoking it when you’re not supposed to is selfish/stupid. If it was addictive, at least you could blame that...
I smoked cigs for 20 years before quitting in 2001. I haven't managed to quit MJ and started at the same time as cigs (1981). I admit that I'm only motivated to quit MJ when I know I'm going to get tested (been over 10 years since that's happened) or go on vacation where it's difficult to travel with or where I know I won't have any free time (away from in-laws) to enjoy being stoned. I have no desire to quit permanently and don't plan on it. I have to believe smoking weed is addictive to a degree; but maybe not as much as nicotine. Ask 78' about his kid needing to hit his vape pipe before noon everyday. It's an addiction. My two cents, coming from 38 years of pretty much non-stop :bandit: experience.
