Florida beat Miami. Are we allowed to enjoy it?

I am hoping Miami is our UK moment from last year, except we squeaked out a W instead of an L. I'll be shocked if Miami is unranked by the end of the season.
Miami will be fine. Easy a$$ schedule and a QB with tons of upside. Who knows what dumpster FF may drag us into with his play. ScUM may end up ranked higher than us.

They have some talent but if we didn't fumble and stumble and throw the ball directly to them and if we don't get a penalty every other play I think they don't look so good.

The fumble in the red zone swung the game. We were headed to 14-3 and a probable beat down. Then we decided to cute with the play calling.

Still cant figure out with 5 minutes left after turnover, FF threw a pass/interception instead of handing off to perrine who was in backfield next to him

Why would that much stuff need fixing at this point? Why cant we tackle? What are we doing in practice?
Great point. Maybe Mullen needs to look at his fall camp routine to figure out why the team looked so unprepared to execute the basics. Some has to be chalked up to playing a rival, some to the fact that Miami is better than any of our opening cupcakes are, and some due to opening game jitters but we couldn’t even wrap up. Or keep the ball. Or not commit atrocious penalties. And 3rd and Grantham was as bad as it ever is. Am I the only one that would prefer the other team to have 3rd and 6 instead of 3rd and 12?

We can't expect 10 sacks to bail us out every game. Fundamentals were piss poor (Franks 2nd pick, the PI call late). We've got three weeks before UK to fix it.

Florida fans want Feleipe Franks to be full of fire and passion while simultaneously being a church mouse who only provides stock moments/quotes.

It wears me out just thinking about it. I can't imagine how it feels for him.

Think about that. How many times have you seen that sentence. "Florida beat Miami." Not a whole lot in recent memory.

Beat miami in a game where everything they needed to happen to win happened. Sloppy play, turnovers, and shady refs. Gators played just about as bad as you could and beat a team they haven't played in six years and almost never beat when they do. This is as good as a win over FSU in my book.

Yes it was sloppy, horribly so. I wouldn't watch it again. Not fun to watch. But its a win over Miami. Now they get a break next week. A lot of people gave up on this team after Kentucky last year. Some fans seem to be giving up on them after a win over Miami in week 0. I'm still with Mullen and glad he is our coach. He was the best available and the best for this program.

So enjoy the win guys, theres a lot more to come. At least 10 this year. And for those of you that think 10 wins is bad, this team was 4-8 two years ago.

I watched it again. Better the second time around. Knowing the outcome prevents tension and heartburn of live broadcast emotional swings.

The only thing better than winning bragging rights is owning the rights for the next 5 years.

I posted a few months ago that UM was actually our 2nd biggest rival and got a few facepalm. I think alot of younger fans got a taste of that last night, if not, news flash, Miami hates our friggen guts. They would endure 10 losses to FSU just to beat us once.

As for the game itself, Miami played in the muck and I wasn't sure our team with half the starters from out of state could get down in it with them but, they did and were just as nasty as they were until the final second ticked off.

This was a REAL rivalry game that, I very much thought we could lose and I hope our fans and players learned something to take into the future games we have schedule with them. If you are having trouble mustering up any joy over this win, think about how all the UM fans feel this morning.

As a long-time Cane fan I don't feel too bad today. We at least have a good, poised, mature QB who had 63.5% stat in this game. (Actually, Berlin was our last good QB). JW has to learn that you can't hold the ball 6 to 7 seconds (particularly with our current offensive line) as you will get sacked as the Gators did effectively and he needs to acquire a sense of urgency. Plus, with a veteran QB & coaching staff in his 2nd year, you should have beat us by a lot more than 4 points. I had initially thought we would get beat by between 14 - 17 points. The Gators are probably the toughest team we play this year. I am sure Coach Mullin will address fumble recovery and technique on how to tackle & you will do fine the rest of the season. First games of the year are generally sloppy and this one certainly was for both teams.

I’m done arguing with many in here....it’s as meaningful as the political arguments. Case in point is we won and everyone still attacks our players and hates on kids. If you think this doesn’t affect them and adversely affect our team you’re delusional!

Franks needs to focus on the game, him going up to the stands and talking **** shows his mental makeup, and weakness.
