Very solid all around, I was impressed. I think (hope maybe) that it was like you said just a sloppy game that gave hope/motivation to team that would have folded like a paper bag otherwise. I was actually quite impressed the score was kept so close with 2 turnovers early like that. This gave Mullen a ton to coach on for the week and I hope it helps the team early. Go Gators!

Felipe Stanks is the best option, otherwise Mullen wouldnt have him out there. Agree with the podcast. Its a win, with cupcake next go round, I hate the week 0 game against a rival but it will help us down the road.

Key is not to panic. Go Gators

Ain't much to add. First game was sloppy as hell. Need to work on tackling, ball exchange, and situational awareness. 3rd or 4th down and long means you need to use your head on defense. I like the aggressiveness on the line in those situations, but the DBs gotta do better about giving them free first downs so dang often. Mental discipline is something this team has lacked for over a decade.

I think you are right on. However, I don't think Mullen is going to upgrade at QB. He probably has the upgrade on the bench but it looks like he's joined at the hip with Franks.
I’m not sure he has a surefire upgrade. Jones may be better but by how much? And I think accuracy is his big question.

The tackling was non-existent. I really didn’t care for the smiling, beaming, upbeat Mullen after the game. Your guys barely got the job done. SOS would never have shown happiness for that performance. He would have said he was ashamed of the way we won, and there was nothing to celebrate in that performance. But that was a different era.

The introduction of the turnover chain was a nice touch of Miami being Miami. How are people so obsessed with gold chains and bling?

I’m glad to be a Gator for life.

Spot on. I think Franks needs more drop back and less option, I would spend the hole week on tackling drills If I were Grantham.
Bottom line is the Gators won , that will keep us off the ledge for a few weeks.

I liked the Podcast

Hated the run game

Tackling was atrocious

Need more deep passes or bring in Jones

Where was the Jet Sweep and TE short game...we had size mismatches?

As for Mullen...I'd be happy too...we tried to give the game away and we still won.

He has a bye week, then UT Martin before KY...they'll be ready

Good listen.

IRT that interception at the end, after rewatching the play ... I do kinda like the playcall. Going for the jugular and stepping on the throat to end it. Can't remember who the receiver was but he was going to be wide open on the go route down the sideline. Right side of our OL f'd up like they did all night and the pocket collapsed. Franks did the wrong thing and probably should have just taken the sack so the clock keeps going or scUM has to burn a time out.

Listened on the way to work this morning. Kind of surprised you weren’t a little more animated. I know I would’ve been in full rant mode immediately after the game. It’s why I didn’t visit here until Sunday afternoon.

So is there a weekly podcast? Or is the post-game podcast the big podcast?

Finally got a chance to listen. I might've done it sooner but I thought it would be substantially longer than 5 minutes (there was plenty to "discuss"). Anyway nice job! You should audition for the SEC Network.
