I posted this in the lounge meme thread, but it seems appropriate here:

Let's imagine for the heck of it that he gets the heave-ho after yet another Richtian season in 2021.

And this guy wants back in.

Would you accept him with open arms?

Doesn't he look splendid in Gator colors?
Oh Hail no!

What's the point of being a fan if you don't want to win?

You are clearly an NFL fan posing as a Gator fan because that kind of winning is all that matters mentality is foundational there. College football actually represents something more than just another obscenely rich dude owner so the product on and off the field is supposed to reflect positively on that institution which involves more than just wins and losses.

I personally want to be proud of all those involved with the team that represents the school and town that I love like the 3 men who are enshrined with statues in front of our stadium. No one can ever argue that Meyer wasn't a great coach but he definitely left something to be desired in the long term things to be proud of department.

Some of you act like he ran a program like Briles or Paterno.

Interesting you chose those two coaches given that:

a) Paterno's downfall was looking the other way relative to his misplaced loyalty to a long time assistant and
b) Briles' downfall was monitoring and managing his players' behavior only as it related to impacting their on field production.

Seems to be some parallels there after all...

Feet of clay. None of us are perfect humans. Urban was wound too tight. So was Lombardi and Woody Hayes. Coaching can consume you with the pressure and demands. Danny and TImmy are once in a lifetime players and human beings. Very few people could live up to them.

and the greatest SEC qb of all time.........

Urban didn't recruit and coach Danny Wuerffel.

That being said, we knew with time Urbs would be allowed back around. We sure as hell know he isn't going to retire and live out his golden years in Columbus. He might actually be done this time with that brain thing that could burst.

What a weird thread. A bunch gator fans that would turn down the opportunity to get back to winning championships again. Kind of explains the last 10 years a bit. As to my answer to the question posed. Absolutely, no questions asked! I’d bring Urban back in a heartbeat.

Not suggesting otherwise and I even greatly respect Meyer's ability as a coach. But the question was whether I'd want him back and the post I responded to suggested winning is the only criteria that matters. I disagree with that criteria and I think Meyer's sketchy record with character challenged players and coaches has led to situations that have embarrassed and even shamed the institutions to which he was affiliated including our beloved Gators. Therefore, though I have great memories from his time here, I have no desire whatsoever to see him back on the sidelines coaching our team.

Our next coach is the OC at USF.. I like both the HC and the OC at USF but the OC is my choice.

That's Kerwin for you youngsters. The "Throwen Mayoen".

I'm ready for the: Drunk, Stoned...But I bet with our WR/TE we have right now...Bell would have lit up "Camper's World".

As for Urban...ND is calling.
Correction USC Trojans are calling! Urban will be the next coach at USC book it

Oh please do not be naive. I bleed orange & blue but realized years ago college football and the concept of student athletes has been corrupted for several decades. At the big programs it is one big hypocrisy. If we need Urbs and he wants it then I am all for it.

It would be boring chasing of our past. Move forward toward novel glories. Not rehashed Meyer Lemons. Think of the announcers prostrating themselves like he was an Australian kicker from God.

Meyer's not coming back. And if he did, could you count on him to stick around? I don't want a couple of years of good and then another decade of crap. I personally want somebody who want to build for the long haul.

I'd take him back as a recruiting coordinator. He would kill it, err pull in some 5 stars. Also, can he help get the facilities moving along faster?

No thanks. One serial killer alumni is good enough for me.
