Glad it looks like it’s turning. If that’s the case, there’s gonna be some good swells for surfing once it gets far enough north to get the offshore winds. I miss those opportunities. Y’all be safe either way.

Hopefully this stays off shore. I lost power for a week when Irma came up the middle of the state.

Beaufort is beautiful but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near there during a storm. That place looks like it would flood if you spilled your drink.

Looks like they are ducking this one, too, but yes. Those marshes look like they’re about a foot lower than the ground.

Yes it was. Completely. And everyone else thought it was funny but you.
Possibly but as a construction manager for Paris Island, had to make sure. People say a lot of stupid stuff on this board. This would’ve been near the top.

The roads at Parris Island would flood when they had “king” or “spring” tides. Pretty wide. The tide can change more than 7 feet in a day.

It all depends on the eye.

If it skirts the coast with the eye off Shore...awesome. Maybe rain but wind driving water out to sea.

If the eye is more westerly...not good...especially along the St John's and GA

And the water is shallow in North FL.

Got a brother in Brunswick:trux:

I said in the box 2 days ago it was hitting jawja. It did a pure north jog Wednesday night that no model had predicted. Wasn't until yesterday evening that services even started hinting it could be further north.

Where jboss at? He got a plate full of crow to eat.

I grew up in Titusville. Just about every year the weather channel (purveyors of mass hysteria) projected a hurricane to hit from the Atlantic. Not once did it happen. Only once (04 I think) did a hurricane hit and it came from the Gulf.

Long story short: I laugh every time these idiots project a hurricane to hit north brevard/volusia. Just ain’t happening. There’s a reason KSC is where it is and the east coast of the state is shaped like it is. 1 of 2 things will happen with Dorian: it’ll hit the Miami area/skirt south and head to the Gulf or it’ll turn north and hit Georgia/South Carolina/North Carolina. Don’t need no damn model. Just watch.

Said that yesterday morning but had been telling my wife that for days. If you’re from Brevard, you just know how it works. Just like during the summer, every resident knows a thunderstorm is coming through around 330 unless the St. John’s River stops it. I should’ve been a meteorologist.
