Are you effing serious with this BS?

Half joking, half serious. There’s a segment of fans that this is definitely true of with their old school mentality. I don’t think it’s racism to be clear, old white dudes hated Baker Mayfield for the same reason

Old white dudes would LOVE Franks if he was kicking ass on the field.

Baker faced a bunch of backlash at OU and still does. It’s different today than it was back in the day with players being more outspoken and “in your face”

To be clear - I am not calling or implying anybody is doing it because of racism. Would be stupid to think that considering the guy most want to replace him with is black.

Anywho.....how bout this upcoming Kentucky game?

Not a threat at all? You serious, Clark?

He's not Tim Tebow running the ball, but he's not Dan Marino, either. He has running ability, and has showed it numerous times throughout his career. Just admit you hate the kid for telling you to STFU, that's all this is about.

He was much better in this game. My issue again has always been his antics.

However – he is not a fit for this offense. He’s just the best that we have right now. If you don’t have a QB that can run, this offense can’t go. This is not Franks fault. He’s a pro style trying to fit his game and he did a really good job last night.

He was really accurate this game.

You’re right on the running game. This O-line is getting no push. Pass blocking has been decent though. I’d like to see a slight change in playcalling to run some sweeps and counters. Particularly if they’re running 3 man fronts. The counter allows a hole to form and the RB to see it. A little slower developing but that’s okay if they’re running an undermanned front.

Also the shovel pass may help in drawing in the LBs to free up the middle of the field.

Not the biggest Franks fan but see from last night he did a good job. I was not upset with his performance and yes til we get some push up front, swing passes and the sideways game will be here for a bit. I am wondering, and we saw it one time last night on the TD, that Mullen put a FB in the game. That would certainly help some you would think. He did it in '05 with Billy Latsko. But Sas think you were spot on that CDM's take on this was nothing more than a scrimmage. The whole feel, approach, and look of it surely seemed that way.

-Tough loss with KT. Hopefully we have him back in about six weeks. I thought Copeland looked very good both catching the ball and on the jet . Henderson is definitely the more costly injury if he’s going to miss time. Let’s cross our fingers there .

-Bogle looks like a three and done stud at end. We may have an all sec guy there with him beyond this season. The three freshmen corners all played well. Which obviously was good to see with CJ getting dinged . Lenton is slower than half the board .

-OL hasn’t improved since the opener . We
seem to get a better YPC when going under center .
Keon playing fullback was interesting . Krull continues to block poorly while Gamble sits . Only a matter of time before that flips . Dreadful TE blocking has hurt off tackle plays . Moving forward LB coverage and OL play stick out as areas that need to improve .

Agree J. The antics, at times he makes just as many mistakes as he does decent play. Last night totally better on both. he almost went there on the one long run he had early in the game. Just seems to me when he is going thuggish, he creates more pressure on himself. But, pleased with his performance last night.

Mentioned it above but think a FB at times (one that can catch too) would be a lot of help for the OL and run game. A la Billy Latsko '05.

I think FB can help as well. @cover2 Posted in his thread that Perine needs to shore up some things in his form. I agree with that. I think Davis actually did a much better job last night at seeing holes. I’ve always thought Davis is the best back on the team. But Perine can be a workhorse and can wear a defense down.

Let me know when he does it against a good defense.

He's not the perfect QB for Mullen's offense, but neither was Chris Leak, and he's definitely a better runner than Slides McSlideserson was.
