Per 247sports, the DC, Harlon Barnett, is the highest-paid assistant coach in program history with his annual salary of $980,000. If they don't improve and he keeps his job, a lot of DCs are going to be expecting raises.

I read some post (not sure if it's in this thread) from an FSU writer or homer or something, completely blaming the entire thing on Barnett - placing no blame on Taggert - and saying that they need to fire Barnett and fully support WT. Unbelievable. He's lost the program. I know we all joke about him needing a lifetime contract, but this is toxic - much like Muschamp was and instead of ripping off the bandage and starting over, Foley gave him another year. I'm happy to watch their program burn to the ground, but their AD needs to meet w/ the boosters and ask if 'what should be done eventually, should be done immediately'?

I really wish we would stop this Fake News. FSU is perfectly fine. Everything is going as well as can be.

Listened to the recent "On the Bench" podcast with Newberg, Nee, and Sonnone. The most interesting comment? The players are beginning to tune out wiLLLLLLLLie. If they completely turn on him this year, he is gone no matter what.
So I just listened to it and wow. The players themselves doubt everything they are doing. Total shambles.

I knew during the VT game they were winning 3-5 games and called it then (search my post history), and I’m in the books now at saying it could be even worse (2-4 wins)

How is FSU winning 2-4 vs 3-5 worse? In my book, that is better!!!

You shut your mouth. The only thing they need to do is work on a contract extension so that racist wrongs can be righted. 5 years is the minimum they should give Willlllllie. He needs time to work his magic.

We really needed that extra point last week. I still think the wheels come off, but I’d have loved seeing their bowl hopes up in smoke by week two. Their schedule is so weak it’s not a given they don’t find 5 more. This game is huge. They're on the verge and just need a solid uppercut to get them spiraling before miami and Clemson finish them off.

Forgetting about money, if this list is accurate, it has to be Babers. No way the can fire Willie after two seasons and replace him with a white guy or a Hispanic. That leaves Dino and Franklin. I seriously doubt Franklin would leave Pedo U, especially with Urbs gone from the B1G. I can see him flirting with the Nulls in order to squeeze a few more $ out of the folks in Happy Valley, however.
Moving back to reality -remember, it’s not about the money; it’s about the money- the only way any of this happens is if their AD can get their big bucks boosters to pony up the buyout and the new coaches salary (with this kind of leverage, Sexton is getting an epic contract for the next guy). The bad news is I suspect for laying out the necessary cash, the mega boosters are going to want a lot of say so and will not give a flying *#%@ about any optics and will try and get a guy like Stoops.

Babers would be great but I don’t think Stoops would leave UK unless they had a boatload of money and if they hired babers cause he’s black that’s just pathetic

Concur with your comment about Babers, but then, race was why they hired Willie. To fire him after only two seasons, well, in for a penny; in for a pound.

Twenty five years ago my university employer sought to diversify its staff by reserving some positions for minorities. I always thought that the scheme was counter productive. I watched managers delay or even avoid filling these positions because they knew that if they made a bad hire they couldn't get rid of them. And as the employees found that they were in a sekcure position, their performance worsened.
Sad thing is that there were many very competent minorities available if you looked for them.

The mention of Dino Babers is interesting. To me, the only way they get rid of willie and sidestep the cries of racism is to hire another minority coach. Don’t expect them to even consider hiring a whitey.

Oh God.

Richt has to happen, it's the only poetic outcome possible.

For him to agree to coach a school whose dicks we'll kick in every year for the foreseeable future would be priceless.

Most of the Richt apologists in the UGay fanbase always pointed to his work at F$U as proving his offensive genius and being a "championship coach".

My Golden Chief friend has told me they are being contacted to find 10,000 who will donate $17,000 over the next five years to buy out his $17 million.
