I’d like to see DM pick a #2 and give him significant snaps in game 5. I think you have to get the #2 ready in a long season. I think nervousness is a little more likely in EJ at this point but his upside is larger. Trask seems calm and poised. I think he knows the offense well. Probably more limited than Franks in the run game but who really knows? If he moves too fast he could break a foot.
I’m almost scared for him to do that - what if it’s trask? I don’t see how him playing is beneficial other than - maybe - in the nearest term. If Jones hasn’t surpassed him, though, we should all be a) thankful Franks is our QB and b) extremely concerned for the future.

Is it not obvious enough? Jones and Trask are in year 2 of the system. I by no means profess to be an expert but I do have eyes and can see that neither Trask nor Jones look like anything very special when they get on the field. Trask looks a bit more understanding of the offense. So far we have heard nothing about Jones wowing at practices nor have we really seen it in games. He has made some good throws but to be honest, if he was the future there would be a heck of a lot more chatter about the competition than what we got right now. Its Franks ... and then honorable mention is split between Trask and Jones.

The future looks to be AR. Hopefully.

I forgot all about this thread. I’d still like to see Trask start and play an entire game.
Like they say he could be one step away from doing just that. I would like to see him and Jones play a quarter with the number ones.

It took Franks getting hurt to light a fire under the rest of the teams ass....had they done it earlier we would have been up by 4 scores and Trask would have gotten injured in mop up duty....

I'm actually excited to see what Mullen can do with Trask. His size reminds me of Tebow and the way he runs. Maybe Mullen can open up the play book.

I have to say that I give a strike to Mullen that Trask would have sat on the bench for a second loss to Kentucky had Frank's not gotten hurt.

As an aside, best wishes to Frank's. He did the best that he could and played his heart out.

Well, well, well. Trask overcomes Mullen's boneheaded decisions to go for two and poor clock management to get the Gators a win with some nice throws and pocket presence behind a less than stellar OL.

Gotta pray the oft injured Trask doesn’t go down as well.

Jones isn’t ready for full time first string play and he’d be the last man standing. Yeah.

I think dan will pull back a bit in running Trask because of the OL and qb depth. Gonna be tricky.

I think the OLs deficiency in run blocking will make the decision easier.

Nope. With Franks in the game we lose for sure. Difference after he left was no QB turnovers and some accurate reads and throws.

Can't help wondering what Trask would do in Spurrier's offense. With the receivers we have, he could be really productive given some time by the OL.

Though I am sickened that Franks got hurt, you all ways want to see a new QB under different circumstances that don't involve injury or season ending injury. But Franks had me....well, he had me....anyway, here is a reprise of the Allman Bros. song I parodied earlier as I felt Franks was sucking the life out of me as a Gator....

[To the tune of the Whipping Post --the live version--]

I've been run down and I've been lied to.
And I don't know why, I let Felipe Franks 2019 expectations make me a fool.
He took all my spirit, wrecked my season outlook.
Now I'm with one of my good time Gator buddies,
Drinkin' my blues away in some cross-town bar.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whippin' post.
Tied to the whippin' post, tied to the whippin' post.
Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin'.
The GatorChatter Board tells me, that I've been such a fool.
But I had to stand by and take it guys, all for lovin' the Gators.
Drown myself in sorrow as I look at what my Franks expectations have done.
But nothing seemed to change, the pick sixes and interceptions keep on comin',
And I can't run, I'm a Gator to the end
Even though sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whippin' post.
Tied to the whippin' post, tied to the whippin' post.
Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin' this season.

Welcome to the Thunderdome Kyle Trask!

There isn't a snowflakes chance in hell that a glorified ballboy will ever start a game while Franks has any eligibility left......
Same goes for the Stick Man EJ.....my God would it kill someone on the staff to buy that kid a burger. He still can't be over 165# and nearly got knocked out of the game.
I do not believe this word means what you think it means.
