What are the chances Mullen pulls a mind fcuk on everybody and trots Emory Jones out as the starter?

I say 0.0%

But what do I know?
Alex.

I say 0.0%

You guys got Swonk all wrong.

Yeah, he believes Trask unworthy of being a UF recruit but Doering was a walk-on and so were Kerwin Bell and Louis Oliver.

Swonk loves the Gators more than he hates being wrong. I guarantee you he's rooting for Trask and this team.

Alex.

I think Swonkey was most upset, mostly saying "You couldn't find a better horse to put that money on"(that scholarship on).

Trask has the opportunity of a lifetime here. To go from backup QB and a Houston Baptist recruit to winning some SEC games is a huge story. He could be a poster boy for hard work, dedication, and overcoming adversity.

It's probably all just wishful thinking on my part, but we could be witness to something special this season.

I hear ya ... and I think the kid is better than give credit ... but I dont think he is the difference maker unless he can shore up our run defense and secondary. Our D is going to get pushed around .. a lot.

I think the difference will be that Trask will be more likely to throw a guy open than Franks. Franks held it and held it until the guy was wide open and then chucked it. Trask made several throws the other night where he anticipated the receiver’s break and hit him. The one that comes to mind is that dig route to Pitts. That was a thing of beauty.

Again, though, Kentucky brought no heat at him because they were playing with the lead, so it’s tough to say. We will find out Saturday how Trask handles pressure, because you can bet your ass Pruitt and co won’t sit back in soft zone.

I don't disagree. I saw some things from Trask after rewatching the game that concern me. Tends to like to throw off his back foot, the ball has a tendency to float, his PA's are awful and honestly we should take them out of the playbook at this point.

I hope the kid does well because it means the Gators win but fundamentally there is a lot he needs to clean up to be successful against teams with better secondaries.

In the Kentucky game almost everything Trask did turned out to be good. What I want to see is how Trask reacts to adversity. When he throws an interception is he going to bounce right back or is he going to become gun shy and tense up? Franks could throw an interception then come right back and play like nothing ever happened and beat you.
Nothing has improved Franks' quarterbacking skills so much as getting injured. It is hard for me to remember that less than a week ago, I was one of Franks'foremost pumpers, being bashed left and right for failing to understand how terrible he was.

Swonk is in an abusive relationship with Gator Football. He's the battered spouse who knows her husband is a POS (Foley, Chimp, Mac) that keeps saying the right things, keeps promising it will get better, but Saturday night (or NSD) rolls around and the reflection in the mirror shows a pair of black eyes. Over and over again. Yet despite that, Swonk still loves Gator Football.

Alex.

Awww, that's just terrible. Im so sorry he is the only one suffering from being let down by the leadership. It must be really lonely.

We should probably remember the kid has never started a game at any level. Of course he will need work.

I picture Trask holding up that hideous golden Dr. Pepper trophy at the end of the season, a beatdown of Clemson at his hands. Confetti is falling everywhere....just picture it. The greatest story in the history of college football - a high school backup wins it all, getting game MVP in the process.

It would be the NCAA equivalent of Kurt Warner going from supermarket stock boy to Super Bowl MVP.
Then gets drafted in the 7th round by the Steelers and wins a Super Bowl as a rookie.

Im fine with a few turnovers from pushing the ball down the field. At least we are trying to be agressive. I cant remember the last time the florida offense was agressive. Its been decades.

The owner of the website is poo-pooing more threads and posts?

This isn't about the Kentucky game or the Tennessee game...it's about Trask and the rest of the season. I thought it deserved its own thread.
If I had started it would have been merged faster than the jet sweep at the end...........

Trask should only be allowed to run out of bounds. And only after the sideline has been cleared of stray cups, clipboards whatever. In fact they should keep the kicking net on the sidelines just in case. Other than that I'll be happy with any game he throws less than 3 interceptions.

I think you're going to pleasantly surprised at what a real QB can do for this offense.
Go back and re watch the 4th quarter.....if we don't get a running game going we are in deep doo doo. Trask threw the ball with his feet together, he threw the ball with both feet off the ground and he threw the ball off his front foot too many time to count....he won't get away with that against man up defenses....not hating on him btw..

We better hope defensive coordinators don't adjust to him the way they did with Tyler Murphy in 2013. They definitely won't be playing pillow soft zones against him the way UK did the whole 4th quarter. Good news is, at least we have Emory Jones behind him instead of Skyler "Don't Take My Cleats" Mornhinweg.

Yeah I hate it when our QB throws off his front foot. Especially on I’ll-advised 2 point conversions.

I’m not sure how he throws at all with those 14 inch diameter biceps.
