Odd choices for schools to include but if it gets more exposure for the program and helps recruiting, I'm all for it. I imagine HBO will love the Washington State episode with Mike Leach. Pure entertainment.

Nice. I like the exposure.

I'm told they also approached Taggart about it this week. But he felt like his team needed to focus and just couldn't afford a 4th loss.

I remember FSU getting some kind of show back in the day on showtime maybe? I’ve been hoping we’d get this kind of exposure for awhile. Whoever is in the office putting this stuff together (week 0 etc) or getting the opportunity to be in the discussion should get a raise

I'm usually quite the cynic on Stricklin, but I'll give him this. A friend of mine works directly with the UAA and he say's Stricklin is huge on exposure and very demanding about it. In meetings leading up to the O&B game, according to him, Stricklin was livid about the lack of "buzz" surrounding the game and pushed for a campaign to get people talking about it. So criticism aside, he does seem to understand that at least.

He had to fire that raging idiot during a time where there just wasn’t much available. Norvell has fizzled. Fuente is trash. Frost is questionable but at the moment mediocre. Kelly is a dumpster fire and I’m sure there will be a book or at least an article about that infamous interview with Stricklin. The more time passes the more I believe they were heavily turned off by him and thank god they were.

I think Stricklin is smart and moving the program in the right direction. Wether Mullen was it or not doesn’t matter. He was clearly the best in a shallow pond of coaching talent

Of the five popular names mentioned(don't forget WT), only Norvell and Frost are still in the "jury's out" category and they're not terribly far from an unfavorable verdict, especially Frost. The rest are pure garbage, and collectively have probably won less than Mullen in the first 16 games against easier competition. So no question he was the right hire. I'm just not sure we didn't fall into it with our 3rd option. If he'd zeroed in on him, he would've faced some heat no doubt. But at least he would've looked smart in (gulp) hindsight and could demand the praise. As it is, I can't give him that much credit, other than pulling the trigger on the hammerhead chaser when he had the chance.

He (Kelly) would have been about as impactful as Bill Parcels when he just sat around practices on a Gatorade barrel.

It was Foley.

Orr was available and would have brought in some stupendous recruiters as assistants.

Too early to dismiss Norvell and Frost. Norvell still coached a top 10 offense last year with a young, inexperienced Memphis team, and Frost has a pretty big rebuild at Nebraska with a completely different offensive system.

Taggart suggested that this would interfere with the team's focus on hydration and conditioning.
